I found a clash...

 

A nexus mod called Crime Bounty Decay.  It slowly lowers the Bounty amount as time passes, because people forget.

 

Both this mod and that one clash. When i arrive to look for clues and find the Journal.... Nothing happens. The quest closes, but the amounts don't drop to 0. My name doesn't clear.

 

instead, the total continues to slowly go down.  Because of that, I can't use the other mod. Which is okay. I didn't know about that clash until I discovered the journal.

This is great. I think I'll make this my new default for new characters.

 

 

 

Wasn't expecting traps in the starter area. Stepped on a pressure plate and got wrecked by a swinging gate

I've converted the mod to SSE with Cathedral Assets Optimizer and seems to be working without any problem.
Here the mod for SSE if someone wants to play it.
