The Sims 2/3

Yeah they're both good but once I realized that I was playing the same game with just a few sexy skins it I lost interest quick. The game is good but it took too long to not accomplish a lot. I actually felt like I was living my own life :

"Waking up, showering, missing breakfast, going to work, coming home to nap, getting up to play on the computer, and then right back to sleep to only repeat it all again"

Even worse when I was getting booty calls at 1am but I ignored them because my character was always close to death from lack of sleep.

My sim is probably pretty bored too - other than going out for some random romping, he gets left alone a lot.

When I do fire-up the game, most of my time is spent screwing around with all the other sims. Getting them to do stupid things, messing around with other sims they normally wouldn't have anything to do with, toying with their finances, sending them to work in the porn industry... basically I get to play Loki and they are my toys.

The game itself does get boring pretty fast, but it is fun to really mess a town up. Years back I had the SimCity series - building the city wasn't all that fun (long-term), but DESTROYING the city was an absolute blast. Same thing here with TheSims.

Until, of course, someone creates actual in-game Lovers-type animations (not posers). heh!

Additional note: the Story Replacer mod is quite the hog! Causes frequent delays and sputters.

How the heck do you get mods to work in this game. I'm at the NRass site and there's plenty to download, but I can't for the life of me find an Installation Guide.

I dropped all the Package files into the The Sims 3/Mods/Packages folder, but it can't be that easy... and its not working so I know that its not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if you like, I might reward you with a random picture of one Don Knotts. If thats not tempting... well then...

For T3.

1. You need have game updated (Vanilla is not supported now)

2. You need to have 2 files, one you have to download "d3dx9_31.dll" and put it in "YourSimsGameDirectory\Game\Bin"

second file you can make by yourself. Make txt file put in this:

Priority 500
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*.Sims3Mod
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.Sims3Mod
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*.Sims3Mod
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*.Sims3Mod
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*/*.Sims3Mod

Save it and rename to "Resource.cfg" and place in your main sims directory.

3. Creat "Mods" folder and in it "Packages" folders at your main sims directory.

4. Put all your mods there and they should work.

Thank you very much. Got it going. Some of them anyway. The Joker animation packages didn't seem to work and also slowed my game to a crawl. Unfortunate.

So, which NRass mods are worth getting? I have the Woohooer, but its pretty tame, really.

Some mods like core mods are meant to work only for specific game version (mostly latest) if mod is outdated then you have to use game version that was written for, but then you won't be able to use mods writen for new one.

To be honest I even didn't know that any animation mod exist for TS3. To my knowledge, making new animations for TS3 is impossible or insane hard.

From NRass is moslty used Woohooer and plugin for it Kama Simtra (prostitution mod).

Other interesting mod would be AwesomeMod! from "moreawesomethanyou" it is mostly tweaks gameplay (it could make conflict with NRass mods)

Beyond hacks, skins and item mods I don't think that there is more for TS3.

Had to hop on and say tank you for sharing all the links. I am addicted to both Sims 2 and 3, this will make them even more fun ^_^ I used to have some mod that made Sims basically run around and randomly rape one another, it was funny for a few minutes but then the screams started to make my ears throb in pain >_< It's hard being a perv junky with roomies :/

Yes, AwesomeMod and NRass are incompatible. Currently using NRass mods due to ease of use and flexibility (have about a dozen of 'em running). New updated mods are available for the 1.33 patch.

Work being done in animation is very good news!

Thank you for the link! I am a pretty picky perv though so I will wait until the animations hopefully look a lot less robotic and silly lol Video 4 was adorable though:D
