gooboo Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 One of my favorite things to do as a modder is look at the comments about my mods on Japanese/Chinese websites and try to figure out what the hell they're saying. Sometimes you get some really funny garbled translations via Google translate. But I've been looking up the comments for my Skyrim A Woman's World mod and I just can't for the life of me figure out what the hell most of these people are talking about, lol. I think some of them like it, and some don't? And is the last one asking if I'm a plain looking woman? That's what one translation came up with. Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if someone here could translate these to English. Surely there must be some Japanese speakers on these forums! これで美人なら人気MODになってたと思う(直球) ぶっさいくな人がメイクしてみたけどやっぱりな顔ばかり かつら被った杉本哲太 せっかく女体化してもこれでは… うん、ゲイバー「SKYRIM」って看板が頭の中で出来た こういう引き立て役みたいなのがいた方がいいんだよ。 作者はブス専なのかな?
gvman3670 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 This is what Bing (Microsoft translator) got from it. Think this is the popular MOD if beauty was ( artishts ) Hanging was a blend but I tried to make people after all, face Sugimoto tetta suffered a wig This long-awaited by women in the... Yes, gay bar 'SKYRIM' sign could have in the head I had this stooge like you should. Author robs College of technology's I wonder?
gooboo Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Yeah I tried Bing as well as Google translate, but I still don't know what they're talking about. Sometimes you get completely different translations depending on which software you use.
gvman3670 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Yeah, you do get different translations depending on the software. I've found Bing Translator to be the most accurate, but it still has issues with Asian languages.
Guest carywinton Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Yes there are several of our Far Easter Brothers and Sisters on here, but whether or not they decide to reply is another issue. I do not see too many of these fine folks on here to be honest. Hopefully someone will provide you with some assistance. The problem with on line translations, or machine language translations is they cannot grasp the "street lingo" or different dialects like Hokkaidō Tōhoku Tsugaru Kesen Yamagata Kantō Ibaraki Tokyo Tōkai–Tōsan Nagaoka Nagoya Mino Hida Hokuriku Kansai Chūgoku Umpaku Shikoku Iyo Tosa Sanuki Hōnichi Ōita Hichiku Hakata Saga Tsushima Satsugū Hachijō Okinawan
zzz72w3r Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 My college Japanese is very rusty but I'll give a shot. Some can be really off. Just a side note, I am really surprised that there aren't any Japanese modder represented here especially the animators. Are they just into making pose mods for screenshots? これで美人なら人気MODになってたと思う(直球) I think this can easily become a popular beautification mod, honestly. ぶっさいくな人がメイクしてみたけどやっぱりな顔ばかり The faces look like members of a boy band. かつら被った杉本哲太 Tetta Sugimoto with a wig. せっかく女体化してもこれでは… Painful female mod, this is... うん、ゲイバー「SKYRIM」って看板が頭の中で出来た (hard to translate but I think someone might just be just trolling) こういう引き立て役みたいなの役いいんだよ。 I am OK endorsing it. 作者はブス専なのかな? Seems the author is seriously drunk?
gooboo Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 Lol I figured some of the Japanese users wouldn't like it since I avoided making my NPCs look like anime characters. That last one still doesn't make any sense though.
zzz72w3r Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 The last post was just being sarcastic wondering if the author of the mod was drunk making it.
Rayblue Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Lol I figured some of the Japanese users wouldn't like it since I avoided making my NPCs look like anime characters. That last one still doesn't make any sense though. Seems that some of them are just as nitpicky as any other Skyrim mod users. Are they just into making pose mods for screenshots? As I often visit skyrim.jpn.org, well, yes they could be because of the influence from some J-games, especially 3D Custom Girl, which allows you to dress, and then pose a character before taking screenshots just like doing gravure or JAV shots. Skyrim and other Beth games provide high degree of greater customization than any other J-games, which are mostly console-based. Of course some of those modders don't want their player characters to look unattractive or don't like "realistic" features so there's a line of mods made for that type of player.
