Defiance - Sexy SciFi Could be Sexier

I  LOVE the new-ish show defiance and the MMO game which has spun off from it. It has a cool backstory,

sweet technology and a post ass-kicked, partly alien-terra formed, apocalypse feel to it I appreciate from

the fallout series games.

 

The angry gamer review misses a lot because he reviewed it before Trion had a chance to update,

but it does give a fair review of the games beginnings. (u-tube has his video review)

 

Since they are now thru 2 seasons (and on to a 3rd) the newest content and missions are totally cool

additions to the story as a whole. However the game has no-where near as much skin as the show

and I would really like there to be. Thoughts anyone?

I pretty much agree with everything you said.

 

haven't been playing much lately, because pretty much the only MMO's I play are this and the Secret World, and right now (Halloween), TSW is winning out.

 

not really adult related, but I liked that Orange Durango they gave away, but still LOVE and always default to driving my red Med Tech buggy.

 

But back on topic, I like the show, and I like the game, and yes, the show has more skin than the game, and the game would really be cool with more.

I've watched a few reviews of it. This isn't an adult game, even with mods it can't be, and nothing about it is sexy IMO. Why do you consider it as an adult game? Am I missing something here?

I "think" what Bob is talking about,  well, my impression, and what I personally was talking about/agreeing to is this-

 

If you watch the show, there is quite a bit more sex scenes and skin shown, than there is in the game.   I'm thinking stuff with Stama's bathing scenes, and at least half of the scenes that involve the Need/Want.     I'm thinking Berlin got some pretty hot scenes too, if I remember correctly.  Seems like Season 2 had something almost every episode, that "pushed the limit".   Its pretty noticeable, if you enjoy that in the show, that the game has nothing like that.    Just would be cool if some of that were in the cut scenes.  Subtle stuff in cutscenes or behind doors, not like Skyrim mods where you can just have your pc do it with anyone, anytime, and not npcs running around nude in the open.

 

Probably having to do with the games rating, and what they want it to be.

I've watched a few reviews of it. This isn't an adult game, even with mods it can't be, and nothing about it is sexy IMO. Why do you consider it as an adult game? Am I missing something here?

 

The 'sexy' is the show, which has plenty of fan service.

I think the game could benefit from some more revealing

outfits and the potential to barter yourself for scrip or pay

scrip/barter to watch.

 

Also, maybe a few drinks wouldn't hurt. A drunk mod/mode

would be hilarious and add immersion. Drunk roller challenge

anyone? Bring on the lulz! 

 

Some of the leather and studs outfits in the show are strait hot

and a bit, um, whore-ish. Come to think of it, a fair number of

peeps in the show are prostitutes. 

 

Besides, I think is would be appropriate to have, a more adult

version of the game available for those who can appreciate it,

and are mature enough to handle it. NO sudden references to

liking mudkipps. It would dove-tail poignantly with all the tail in

the show, where even the mayor of a large town can double

as it's madame.

The game doesn't even resemble the show. The main characters make brief appearances, but that's about it. Storylines don't match, not even in the same city (so why do the main characters even appear?), and there is a complete absence of sex, quite unlike the show.

 

In fact, I suspect the show would have been canceled, if they hadn't thrown hot lesbians into it. Most liked the show, but obviously some of the creatures just don't belong. Also, they played out the "betrayal" angle too much, too soon. That's right about when I stopped watching it. Haven't seen the second season.

 

The game is unmoddable, so "sexy" is out, unless people put tons of pressure on TRION to add stuff like that, since sex is in the show.

 

The game's awesome commercial is what got me to buy it, and the fact that the game and show somehow interacted was why I watched the show. The sexy ladies are, admittedly, why I kept watching, and DLCs are why I kept playing. (did they ever make one??)

 

Since the game wasn't adapting to the show in any way, I turned it off, and eventually uninstalled it. I started a thread about sex mods for Defiance too when it first came out. Found only disappointment since then.

 

 

I was totally stoked when the game came out, and I liked the show, but I didn't have enough reasons to continue following either.

 

No mods = game better be awesome

 

Just not awesome. I suppose the biggest problem was the advertising. The game looked spectacular, and so did the show. Show was good, and the game was decent. Neither were awesome, so I simply bought a different game.

"The game is on sale for 5 dollars. Is it worth buying?"...and I said "no". Broke my heart.

Wasn't really asking for a mod, just thought this would be a nice

forum to discuss my preferences with,  as WE can all appreciate

that games don't always have to be PG13.

 

But thanks for thinking about it anyway, that was kind, even if you

been made for Fallout and Star Trek. Haven't played Skyrim, but I'm

sure it too is excellent. I know sci-fi fans hang out here, and I didn't

see any Defiance discussion yet. Guess my search didn't show the

thread you started earlier.

 

BTW, they have added a BUNCH of DLC to the game, 5 separate

installs. The linkages to the game from the show expand in the 2nd

season and in the between season mini-sodes.

 

E.g. the nova jem they keep talking about, you find out what it is and

why Varus wanted it so badly. Certain aspects should be more

developed and end user content or open mods would make the game

more fun, but would very possibly be unbalancing or conflict with the

show. I understand there is to be more crossover stuff in the 3rd season

and they have some kind of Halloween thing staring soon. Not sure how

well that may fit with the show, but the outfits look cool.

Oh, but I DO wanna make one! just can't get the right files from the game, nor would I know how to get them back in the game. It's because of the engine. Online multi-player games use engines that basically can't be cracked. This is what scares me about the new Dragon Age...
