how to manually install mods in skyrim

Yeah, screw manual installs. I used to do that, then used NMM for a while. But both were quite limiting, required a lot of attention to what overwrote what and so on, not to mention manual removal of mods (or removing with/from NMM) can leave your game broken beyond repair.

Now I will ONLY use Mod Organizer. Nothing is really overwritten, changing mod order is as simple as drag and drop, it shows potential issues, has LOOT built in to help organizer your load order, and allows for mod removal without actually breaking anything. Plus it leaves your Skyrim game folder clean and unmolested so reinstallation of Skyrim only happens if you want to do it, not because you HAVE to do it.

When I found that Mods existed for Oblivion, I downloaded a Utitlity called Oblivion Mod Manger. I could turn Mods into OMOD's and install and uninstall them from Oblivion. I found I could not have Necklaces with certain Outfits using OBMM, and was also interested in a crafting Mod.

I began My long affair with Wrye Bash.

Bethesda released Skyrim, I began Modding My Skyrim using Wrye Bash.

I have never had to reinstall Skyrim.

I have been able to use Sexlab since it was a Beta. I never had problems getting a Mod to eventually work, unless Scripts were causing Issues.

I had Save Profiles set up for Skyrim to make testing Female Body Replacers easy, switching Save Profiles took around five Minutes.

I used BOSS for Years, and even played with the newest variant before it was named LOOT.

I watched the rise of the "Improved" OBMM that had been renamed to Nexus Mod Manager, but I had abandoned OBMM back in 2009. I felt pity for the NMMnuts trying to get Mods to work, and having Issues when NMM Automatically Installed a Mod Update that broke a perfectly working Skyrim.

I watched the MOUsers following Tannin and had no interest in Thier Mod Organiser, I was using Sexlab Mods already through Wrye Bash.

I saw all of the Help Me threads from MOUsers, and NMMnuts trying to get Mods to work.

I purchased a Laptop and decided to try Mod Organiser. I still prefer how Wrye Bash and BAIN display what is installed and what Mods conflict, but swapping a Save Profile is just selecting the Profile and a mouse click.

I had to watch a few Instructional Videos, and had a working Modded Skyrim within Hours. I also have a Decade of playing with Modded Bugthesda Games.

Give Mod Organiser a second (or third) chance.
