I used Artic Silver 5 on an i5 4670K with stock cooler and upon booting up into bios for the temperature, I seem to idle at 45 C on average. I feel like that's a bit too high especially since this was the first time I have reapplied thermal paste myself. Do I need to reapply my paste?
Ashal Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Unless you utterly fucked up the thermal paste the first time around, 45 suggest you should look at improving airflow, getting a non stock CPU fan, or simply live in a really hot place. It's high-ish in terms of idle, but it's curiosity levels high, not panic levels high.
