Gsrvoesns Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I do not know, if it even fits in here, but it feels like I have already searched the entire Web without finding any clues for remedy. I even read the complete "The Mod Configuration Menu - Support Official help/support topic" on Nexusmods.Normaly Issues with the MCM means trouble with errormessages, telling to reinstall, grey screens or missing MCM in the Pause-Menu. Whatever I do, the Mod configuration Menu keeps my Game CTD.Whenever I start a new game, first the Intro plays. Next, there is the Loading screen. And after that: BOOM - -> MalfunktionIf I try to load a old savegame it loads forever. My Loadorder: FalloutNV.esmCaravanPack.esmClassicPack.esmMercanaryPack.esmTribalPack.esmDeadMoney.esmHonestHearts.esmOldWorldBlues.esmLonesomeRoad.esmGunRunnersArsenal.esmThe mod Configuration Menu.esm I use: Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition 1.4.0.525 (Steam)NVSE 4.5b7Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) (When I try to download the C++ package, the installer states that I already have the latest update)NMM 0.52.3 MCM 1.5 There is one very strange point: First, when I stumbled ouver Sexout, I had a lot of manualy-installed Mods and a real shitload of Data-remains of not clean and proper deinstalled old Mods. Regardless of that I installed nearly everything about Sexout (with NMM) and also MCM. It worked quite good. No crash, no freezing, no CTD. But the Data-remains soon started to piss me off: Sexout breeding didn't change the shape of PC or NPC because of interfering old Bodyreplacer, Hormagaunts walking around instead of Bloatflys because of an unclean deleated conversion, Lots of Meshes where wrecked (worst was the black Chest and Shin on Males), unused Mods messed up the Size of the Data-Folder, etc., etc.. But it worked. So I decidet to whipe the Game clean and reinstall it, throw anything out and start anew. Well, since than I can't get MCM to work, whatever I do. I can install nearly any Mod, even the most infamous for crashing the game. Anything is working, as long as I do not activate MCM. Sadly, Sexout without the possibility to configure it, is nearly pointless.I allready tried to install MCM by FOMM, by NMM and manually. With and without MCM BugFix 2. Always the same discouraged result: CTD after loading Screen.I start to get quite desperate and hope anybody here can help me with this issue.
d4nt320 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 your MCM really say The mod Configuration Menue.esm because my say the mod configuration menu.esp
Gsrvoesns Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 your MCM really say The mod Configuration Menue.esm because my say the mod configuration menu.esp That' called typing error Of corse it is "the mod configuration menu.esp"
Odessa Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 1) When you say you decided to wipe the game clean and reinstall it, how did you go about it? Are you sure there are not any dirty remains of a previous install left over? 2) Use the Load Order export feature of your mod manager, rather than typing them out. I assume NMM has one. 3) If you've just reinstalled FNV and want to play sexout.... why don't you use FOMM instead of NMM? I would say its better than NMM for FNV, and since its what the sexout modders use, you will get better support here using it, since its what we're familiar with.
Loopy06 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 As you don't precise it, it is recommanded to launch your game after an install and before installing other mods. As you have only MCM and NVSE I don't see other causes for your problem I also assume you use the nvse loader.
Guest carywinton Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Since MCM is not working, my first thought there would be it is not in the proper place. \Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\NVSE\Plugins in there you should see MCM.dll NVSE Extender will also be needed for any Sexout stuff it will be in there too, with files named nvse_extender.dll and nvse_extender_ng.dll, with possibly a folder named Extender. Some console commands to try and help you find the problem are: GetNVSEVersion this will tell you what version on NVSE you are using and if it is working. Here are a few MCM specific ones: Show MCMInstalledGetModINI "MCM/List/MaxWidth"GetMCMFloat 0 0 "_MCM" Also check to make sure the Windows UAC, if using Windows Vista or 7 may be causing you trouble and the built in firewall can cause issues to, since MCM needs to communicate with several dll files. You can also look for errors in the following log locations, this may help narrow it down too. /fallout new vegas/nvse.log/fallout new vegas/mcm.log I hope that helps you some.
jaam Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 MCM does not start until there is at least one mod using it
Gsrvoesns Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Now I tried some Addons for NVSE. Still nogood.@Odessa:1) First by Steam, than manually delition of the File and last a full run with Wise registry Cleaner.2) I promise improvement3) I use NMM because it is allready installed for Skyrim. And I had allready tried the Installation of MCM with FOMM.@CarywintonYup, MCM.dll is where it should be.Now with this commands you are pointing in a interesting direction. Seems the MCM is definitely not correctly installed. Here are the results:GetNVSEVersionNVSE version: 4Show MCMInstalledVallue=0.0000GetModINI "MCM/List/MaxWidth"CTDGetMCMFloat 0 0 "_MCM"CTD I will try another Installation by FOMM, like Odessa mentioned in 3).I'm quite sure UAC isn't the problem. Like I told, on first run, it worked properly. installed. Unfortunately it makes no sense to Install any Mod, as long as the game keeps CTD mith MCM. Or do you mean, the absence of a MCM-using Mod could cause the CTD? EDIT: Installed again FOMM; Installed MCM over FOMM. No Change: Still CTD When I load MCM into FOMM there is a Crash, but at a new start of FOMM, MCM is there an can be activated. crashdump: Samstag, 11. Gsrvoesns Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 I GOT IT!! Yeeeaaah! It's the [censorship] [censorship] [censorship] german version of the Ultimate edition. I was wondering about an old Crack I had when i owned just the single german Version of Fallout NV and was looking for something like that for the Ultimate Edition. I have found it on Gamecopyworld. http://www.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_fallout_new_vegas.shtml#Fallout:%20New%20Vegas%20-%20Ultimate%20Edition%20v1.4.0.525%20%28u7%29%20[MULTI4]%20Fixed%20Files I don't know why and how, but the Installation of the altered Data is working just beautiful. No more CTD with MCM. For Everybody with the german Version of Fallout New Vegas AND/OR Ultimate Edition: You need altered Versions of FalloutNV.exe and FalloutNVLauncher.exe !!! PS: A very BIG thank you to everybody for the Help!
