Mack71 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I notice about 50% of the time when sex is activated its on uneven ground and i just came to the thought what if on activation a plynth would be placed under the player at first i was thinking of stone with maybe some growth around it for blending purposes but then began to wonder if it would also be possible to recocnise certain conditions place the appropriate plynth beneath you for the scene say grass for plains rock for mountains and ice for the freezing areas and in buildings you could have it dissabled if not feasable could it be manually activated by a key press which i think would work out pretty well and if poss repeated key presses would cycle through the different plynths to match your location. I think it would be a good bonus for all them camera buffs out there as well, i will look further into this idea but unfortunatley i am not well versed in modding and would appreciate any ideas or thoughts.
DocClox Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I'm not sure how you'd recognise the terrain type. (Which isn't to say it can't be done, of course). What you could try is to spawn a wooden stockade walkway beneath the player, maybe scaled up a little to make sure its wide enough.

I mean, if it can detect terrain type for footstep sounds (something I thought Oblivion did on its own...), couldn't it detect terrain type for other things? I'm not sure having a plinth or platform placed beneath the player for sex and then removed would work... for me, at least... simply because suddenly having something like that appear and then disappear makes suspension of disbelief harder for me. I mean, I can handle dragons, magic, and men-with-magically-appearing-penises-that-instantly-rape-me, but the whole platform thing is a little off for me. What about a virtual (invisible) platform that attempts to follow the contours of the ground? Frostfall has it's tent and fire placement thing detect ground angle somehow... could something similar to that be used? It's not perfect (there are times when it doesn't match up at all), but it's better than vanilla, when sex frequently sends my character's head and half her body through the floor. Wall collision, I'm not sure there's anything that can be done about that, without forcing sexlab to try to find an appropriate space which may require teleporting longish distances from where the sex initially is supposed to happen, and introducing a whole host of other problems... but floor? Might just be possible. EDIT: For that matter, just pick up a weapon and take a swing at the ground. Different surfaces give different sound effects... there has to be something there that can be used... right?
Mack71 Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Hmm i think i`d rather a well camoflaged plinth than having my butt buried halfway in a mountainside which happens all too often, i think a wooden plinth would be a bit unimmersive but try and copy your suroundings i recon it`ll work as long as the plinths do not look too round or square properly textured rock or grass then it could work, but in saying all that i do like the idea of a invisible platform if it could be worked although with the frostfall tent analogy i think theres been times when my heads been buried in the floor i may be wrong on that front but all the animations seem to be on the level as such, not sure if they could tilt and follow the land come to think of it i think all anims in the game engine opperate on the flat so to speak. Hmmm think think think..
