Let's get nosey!

This might be an odd request....  I would like to see pictures of peoples' characters, but more specifically their noses!  Even more specifically, I would like to see peoples' characters noses from a side view, showing off the profile of the nose :3

Why should we just do what you ask? What's your end goal? What are we helping you with?

What do you mean?  I want to see other peoples' character's noses from a side profile, as stated.  If you don't want to that's fine, no need to make a big drama over it :)

It is just apparent that everyone's noses probably look much worse from the side than from the front, which is why no pics.  Nobody has a good nose to show off xD

PS - this is General Discussion, not help forum, not all post are ask for help :o

Ah what a cute nose! :D

Are you using ECE by chance?  I can never get the nose to look like that, any time I try to add that type of curve to it it quickly becomes a mean old crone nose :<

I use RaceMenu  :)

But the nose is quite complicated to work.

I've taken the liberty to sketch out and explain the anatomy of noses in art styles.

First note that I made a few writo(typo?) errors. Nose ridge is actually supposed to be nose bridge width.

1) First please note the facial proportions of the realistic one. That tends to be the typical nose type of Greek aesthetics, Straight angle, very little sellion depth and the sellion height is around eye level and the nose tip slope is less pronounced and the face is evenly balanced throughout.

2) When it comes to anime, the sellion is really deep, the nose protrudes from the face and angle closer to 45 degrees, vs the realistic one which slopes around 60-75 degrees. The tip is also raised up a bit more.

3)Disney/Pixar, is very stylized, using the distortions to increase cuteness of their characters. unfortunately, this leads them to the same face problem, as they tend to be really picky on what is a cute and likable face (Ariel, Elsa, Anna, Rapunzel and many others all use the same facial proportions) . First, you'll notice their noses are long as it accommodates for the eye size. The nose tip slope, is a little higher than the realistic proportion, but not as extreme as anime. Their nose sellion depth is very deep, and the sellion height tends to be where the eyes and cheeks meet rather than the center line for the eye, The mouth to chin ratio is very small and pretty far down the face compared to the other 2 as well. I call this the chipmunk stylization as they favor, puffy cheeks that you can pinch, slender feminine nose, and small mouth, chin, and jawline.

I hope this helps.

Also here's my character. I opt for a more stylized profile nose, but that's personal choice.

In the end, it's all about experience with the sliders. I managed to create pretty nice characters with both ECE and racemenu, but currently using racemenu for the familiar faces mod. They are not much different other than the fact some sliders go by different names.
