swiftaloe Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 figured i would post this here since i get more help on lovers lab than any other skyrim community. i noticed that within like a couple feet of my character there are these weird black lines on all the textures except npc's, is it my computer or is there a fix for this?. also when i get closer they go away but as soon as they are a few feet away they pop back in. i took a screen shot of it. if i left out anything you need to know just ask.
ButchDiavolo Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Ah, that is the infamous stripey shadows bug. There is a (supposed) fix for that on nexus (HERE), however that never really worked for me. My Skyrim is still "zebrafied"
EdinMG Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 That's the famous and disgusting shadow striping, there are a few mods that fixes this problem. I got those ugly things completely eradicated from my game, thanks to Realistic Lighting Overhaul !!!
swiftaloe Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 oh wow, thanks alot. its gone now. now the only thing i have left to fix is my fps drop/stutter.
h38fh2mf Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Try to disable in game anti aliasing and see if it fixes. If it does try using ENB or video card settings to add AA back.
swiftaloe Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 ya it seems turning off AA fixed it but even with my video card using AA it happens. well its ok, if anyone can tell my a way to stop this stutter that would be great to. when im moving or standing still every 20-30 seconds it stutters, or lags for a brief second. im running 45-60 fps open world and i don't know what i have in towns haven't checked.
winny257 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 any type of ENB is only suitable for high-performance computers, I do not use it, thus I lose 15-20 fps. Maybe this is interesting for you. Gameplayer Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Skyrim.ini [display] fSunshadowUpdateTime=0.25 fSunUpdateThreshold=1.5 --------------------------------------------- You should also find this fix at the wiki or even in any decent INI guide. That should take care of that for you no mod required Have fun Gamplayers!

swiftaloe Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 i thank you all for the help so far, but it seems that none of these things work for me, while it helps i still get the hard lag spikes and fps drops while in towns, city and inns. i'm still only at whiterun so i don't know what the lag is like in other parts of the map. but in and around the outside of whiterun i lag every time i look to the town and i lag/get fps drop in riverwood. i have been all over google but i'm not finding anything that seems to work for me so if you have anymore suggestions i would be glad to hear them. dont know if it matters but here is what my pc has. CPU: intel pentium G2030 @3.00GHz GPU: HiS iCooler AMD Radeon HD 7770 RAM: 4GB ddr3
