CTD upon using bed with Alternative Start

I really try to avoid having to ask for help with this, and have often just wrestled Skyrim until it stopped CTDing on me, but I hate uninstalling my mess of mods and reinstalling so I would really appreciate some help to finally have an idea how to correctly do this. 

 

I have used TES5 Editor to clean my Masters (correctly~), and I've used BOSS to identify the mod order but some things aren't recognized so I'm not sure if it helps too much. SKSE is up to date and I always run FNIS (though I doubt that's related) but I feel I have something terribly wrong in this mess...

 

Anyway, so what happens is I can start up a new game, I can edit my character without a problem. All the mods are working just fine there, I talk to Mara she gives me my start and then as soon as I click on the bed it CTD's. I would really appreciate some assistance~

The problem with using BOSS is that it hasn't been updated in a long while. That's why it isn't recognising newer mods. Try LOOT http://loot.github.io/ instead.

I gave that a try, and it did rearrange a few things but still got the same CTD. I don't understand what I jacked up so badly.

Well, I can see a few things that are wrong with that load order, Alternative Start should be at the very bottom of your load order, to prevent other mods from overwriting it, and the Unoffical Patches should go below the ESM they're patching; i.e:

Skyrim.esm=1

Update.esm=1

Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp=1

Dawnguard.esm=1

Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp=1

HearthFires.esm=1

Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp=1

Bash Patch should be at the bottom too.

Is it immediately upon using the bed or is it when it attempts to load in. (Not sure where your alt. start is, but ASLaL needs to go at the very, very end of the load order. Can't tell by the listing you gave.)

 

Also, I read a bit back on the alt start that there were some fixes to how it chose starts and races. Not custom races; though that could be an issue; there are some orc only and nord only starts (might be others too but I mostly play as ningheim) and there were some sketchy checks for races and allowing certain starts but most should have been fixed by now;  so maybe that could be an avenue you could peek down.

 

Can't help much, but just some ideas as you weren't more specific on what races you were attempting to start with. Hope you get it figured out.

LOOT had made those changes, placing Alternate Life at the end just above BASH and the patches between their respective .esm. I may have created a monster... The CTD occures at the exact moment I click on the bed. As soon as I press E it CTD's. I can talk to Mara just fine, and select the life, create the character. All is fine. But the moment I use the bed, it just CTD's.

I had this before and it was my custom skeleton, believe it or not. If you're using NMM or installing manually just install the skelton again and let it overwrite everything.

I appreciate everyone's help. I have a feeling the combined effort of teaching me how to correctly place my files, discovering LOOT and of course the skeleton issue were all a great deal of help.
