Papajack55 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Yesterday, my computer was going so slow while I was playing Skyrim, and then all of a sudden, the game CTD'd, and none of my applications worked at all. No videos, no games, nothing. I checked all the apps, then went in and checked the services, and found every single one had been completely stopped. I called my tech up, and he remotely checked it and found it had been hit by some kind of virus that shuts down your computer. He cleaned it, but I still couldn't play any games, and it wasn't salvagable. So I have to take it in and have it wiped and re-set completely with a new set of Win7 that I have. Meanwhile I bought a new comp and I am back in business once agin. My son wants to use my older comp for chess so that's cool. Have a tech clean your comp once a month, and run a virus program at least once a week. I use Avast AND Malwarebyte AntiMalware Program. An excellent prgram that has a chameleon program that hackers don't know how to get around yet.
Rayblue Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Most viruses now comes in three places: warez, bad ads with rogue programs embedded, and anything that's been sucked up by a USB thumbdrive or portable from the office or school.
