lambient1988 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 There are different dresses and gown mods for Skyrim but they provide a lot of low armour. I actually want to fight around with those clothes. Is there any way I can get that dress but have the armour of some other items which I have equipped?

AnnaFly Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 There are different dresses and gown mods for Skyrim but they provide a lot of low armour. I actually want to fight around with those clothes. Is there any way I can get that dress but have the armour of some other items which I have equipped? Hi there. ??? ... well why not increase their AR ( armor value) by yourself with the CK ( Construction Kit) ? Or , just keep them as a clothe ( with or without an armor value) , be sure they use the "Slot 32 " ( the " bipped slot " in the CK and also when viewing in NifSkope ) and use another piece of armor with them ( for more realism) ? Don't you customize most of the outfit mods yuou use ? I always do that , just to keep a very low number of ".esp" files. Most of clothes or armors can be merged with other mods . Sure that will take a " little " time to customize your own mods , but like this you'll also probably "learn" something ... ;°) Cheers.

I want this but where do I get Creation Kit for non-steam edition? Is it not possible to to use them as clothe without creation kit?
lambient1988 Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 If it is compulsary to use the Creation Kit, how do I use it? Does it take a lot of time and RAM to startup?
lambient1988 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Bump please. Sorry for the fast bump but I need this one fast.
yatol Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 why don't you just replace an armor mesh by the dress mesh?

yatol Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 unzip your dress mod, and look for armor_0 or something like that, open it in nifscope to see how it look if there are more than one if you want your dragonscale armor to be that dress, in \data\meshes\armor\dragonscale (just create the folder if it's not there) copy paste the dress armor_0 and 1 rename it to dragonscalearmorf_0.nif and 1 done
AnnaFly Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Greetings. @ Lambient1988 . Sorry , i 'm living in Belgium , so i suppose we are not leaving at the same time ( clock/hour) and i forget to " follow" this thread ... " décalage horaire oblige ..." Well playing Skyrim ( or Oblivion , Morrowind) without a CS or CK ( Construction Set or Construction Kit) is not really " funny" .... If or some reason you cannot use the CK , you can try why NifSkope : first , follow the advice from Yatol , and chose an armoryou want to replace by these clothes ... 2) With Nifskope , open your armor mesh ... in the bloc list ( usualy in the left part - by defaut - on the Nifskope screen ) click ( left-click) on the mesh of your armor , expand to " BSDismemberSkinInstance " ( usually it's the third line under your mesh) , left-click on this one . Now go down to the "details bloc " and clic on the last line " + Partitions " , click once again to the new expanded line called " + partitions " ( yes it's the same name) : now the last line is usually the " body part " look if its value is set to " SPB _32 Body " ( without the cotes - it's the better if you want to see it at any time) ... Now open another NifSkope screen/window with the clothe you want to use ... and repeat the same opertions ... compare the two values : if they are the same , no problem ... if not , you must copy ( you can write it manually) the same value ( = the same name) to your clothe ... Don't forget to save your file ( and first , keep in mind to backup it before any change , of course ...) . Sure , when done , you need to give your clothe the same name as your armor mesh . Do it for the two meshes ( "xxxx.nif" file ) _0 and _1 So it's easy , no ? If your armor don't use the slot 32 , there is a chance that your mesh ( if the name don't match) will not appear in game ( will be " invisible " probably because another bipped slot was assigned with the CK ... ) that's why it's better to use one with the same name ... If you use an UNP family texture , try to replace the mesh from the mod " School girl " , i often use it for a quick test want i just want to sse a new outfit in game without editing it with the CK ... I 'll post a link ( as a " PS" ) in a few minutes ( sorry , my Kaspersky don't allow me to copy it from one of my " .rtf " file ... that's because i always use a limited account , and some directories ( like the data folder of Skyrim are protected ...especially because i created some files with an administrator rights or another user account ... ) Cheers. NB : if this is to " hard " for you , put your to meshes here ( the _0 & _1) and i will test them. PS : http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12443#
