JRCosta Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Here's the updated file. Violet - Follower.rar Also there are no textures in the sg hairs file for the hair my follower is using, I've only got the meshes included in there :/ Ok, the file structure looks right now. About the hairs, I have the textures, no problem. I will try at home later and try to fix the damn neck gap Edit: you didn't create her with ECE? Just using the CK slides, right? No nose32 trick?

As I want to help you remove master files, re-path file assets to remove dependencies and fix the neck bug, the approach COULD be different with a NPC created with ECE (charactermakingextended.esp should be needed as a master). If you create using the spf console command then import face data in CK, no problem, the esp has all the info, that's the way I am used to create NPC. If you use ECE to create the face then use the nose32 to import the it in CK, it's a bit more tricky to me - never tried before - but I guess it should be basically the same. Later I will send you some feedback.

JRCosta Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Ok, this is how shee looks after a couple of CK tweaks: The neck seam is gone. Remember that this is her using my character face/body and textures. To give her the body/textures you want, you have to copy the femalebody part textures to her folder, then in CK re-path the torso, hands and head body parts to the copied files or else she will always get the character ones - this is why her face looks somewhat different. I just have to finish some files copy/paste and she will be ready in a couple of minutes.
JRCosta Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Ok, let's see if it works. Violet - Follower.7z No more mod dependencies (brows, eyes and hair files copied to follower folder and re-path done in CK), I have removed the Whiterunfaction (as far as I know it is useless for a follower), rename some things in CK (I have changed the xxxxxxMyFollower ID's to xxxxxxxViolet in CK just to make it simple to me) then pack in 7z (for high compression). Just install with MO or NMM, then test her ingame. If the neck seam persists, it is a body/face texture mismatch (as you can see in my screenshot, using my character assets there is no neck seam) and you should try other body textures to match the face or use the calientes tool to merge the textures.

After install the 7z above, drop this file in the data folder, overwriting the esp - it fixes that. Violet Follower.esp Just one detail that I have forgot to tell you: when editing/creating a custom NPC, I usually move the files in the Data\textures\actors\character\character assets\tintmasks\ to other folder BEFORE opening CK. After closing CK and before starting Skyrim, I drop the files back there - this is to prevent the red forehead bug, where the CK messes up the NPC makeup. I have a bat file to automatically copy the files, so I didn't remember earlier. Anyway, try the mod!

With the new esp she is fixed technically, the neck seam is only seen a tiny bit in certain lighting situations, and that's probably the enb's fault. She's looking different now though, she still looks nice but there's a few things I'd like to change, such as the lips are a shape I don't really like, and the eyeliner is a bit much, is there anyway I can edit this without seeing the neck seam again? I heard there was a mod on the nexus that edits npc faces? would this work? or anything else? Anyways thanks for the help, and getting me back on track again! Here's what she looks like now -
JRCosta Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Right, you can do the following: 1 - Go to the Data\textures\actors\character\character assets\tintmasks\, move everything to another folder (create a backup folder in the desktop named temp, backup, whatever). 2 - Open CK; 3 - Import the face you have created first using spf (you didn't delete it, right), tweak it until you are done. 4 - Save, select the actor only, CTRL-F4 until the facegen is created 5 - Save again (unnecessary, but you can never trust), exit CK. 6 - Move back the files to the tintmask folder. 7 - Start Skyrim and check her. This should give you exactly what you want.

TheTeaWizard Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 Ok so now she's looking much better, but her eyeliner is fucked now. Not sure how to fix that!?
JRCosta Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Weird, you didn't touch the eyeliner, have you (I didn't touch the sliders, I have only copied missing files and change the files paths)? Well, try to exit game, move tintmask files, open CK, tweak the eyeliner, save, CTRL-F4, exit, move tintmask files back, test it. You are very close now, make an esp copy first.

I can't edit the eyeliner at all, it just keeps reverting back to vanilla eyeliner and it looks awful... the tintmasks in her textures don't seem to do anything...
JRCosta Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Ok, send me the esp file, I Will create a race for her so you can use custom tintmasks. The custom tint dds are in the zip, right? Really strange how the make-up is messed, it worked perfectly in my game and in your first screenshot, before you fix the mouth.
TheTeaWizard Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 Yes they are - Violet - Follower.rar
JRCosta Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Yes they are - Violet - Follower.rar Ok, thanks, after work I will create a VioletRace. You will get this follower done right, don't worry
JRCosta Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Ok, here is the esp with VioletRace: Violet Follower.esp Just drop in the data folder (keep a backup esp if something goes wrong...) Now move the tintmask textures folder, open CK, tweak her (mouth is wrong again at least, just do your modifications), save esp, CTRL-F4, quit CK, move files again, run Skyrim. This time the esp is looking for the facetintys in character folder, not the character assets default. See if this does the trick for you.

Try without loading the npc file (that will reset her looks to nord race, she now has her own race); open in CK, make the changes and so on.
TheTeaWizard Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 Well this is where we're at now :/ 2014-08-12_00006.jpg the eyes are fine, I just managed to catch her blinking XD
Heromaster Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Have you tried to give her some other type of armor? Does the problem still persist then? Because it does not look like the ordinary "you forgot to export the face tints" problem.
