TheTeaWizard Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Ok so I created a follower that eventually I want to put on the nexus, having problems though, she has a neck seam, and says hey skeever but randomly which is really weird, she's supposed to be standalone but doesn't work without the esps needed for the mods as I tried loading her on a game without any of the textures or hairs installed and that didn't work. I missed the last part out of the guide I was using, which said somthing about nif skope and editing files so the face looks right, I'm guessing it's this part that's going wrong, but I cannot do it, because in the guide the person is editing files that I cannot see when I load the face gen in nif skope???!?? Any help would be appreciated, here are some pics -
JRCosta Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 The dark face bug can be solved using the CTRL-F4 trick: http://www.creationkit.com/Dark_Face_Bug. I don't see any neck seam in the screenshots. The mod dependencies can be removed using TES5Edit or Wrye Bash; just load the Skyrim.esm and your follower esp in TES5Edit, then in the file header of your mod, remove every useless master file. In wrye bash, check this: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/448095-how-to-remove-masters-from-esp-in-wrye-bash/ to remove mod dependencies. Don't forget to backup your esp file in case you do something wrong. About the bad comments she makes about you, raise her disposition in CK character traits to something around 85. As a final note, don't forget to pack everything in the compressed file, including the facegendata folders with your follower esp name file on it, both in meshes and textures directories. Good luck!

Ok will definetley try those, as for compressing the file and putting the facegendata folders with it and meshes and textures, what do you mean? If I was making a mod I was just going to upload the esp!?!
JRCosta Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 No, if you want to create a full standalone mod, you need to include all the files taken from the mods (hair, eyes, everything not vanilla used). Or else, you have to list all the mods required and upload the esp with the facegendata folders. Either way, the facegendata (check your meshes\actors\character\facegendata folder, for instance) must always be included, it contains important npc data so your follower look exactly as intended. Check this for step-by-step info: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25673/?

Will let you know if I have any more problems, think I will with the grey faces problem because I remember my guide saying somthing about that, and I couldn't do it. Will let you know though

TheTeaWizard Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Ok so raised her disposition, and used the CTRL+F4. This is what she has come out like - I had to console search her, and place her at my location even though she should be there, She is still saying hey skeever but, or hey slug breath. She now doesn't have an option for following me, And you must be able to see the neck seam there?

And the weight, is set to 100, right? When you used CTRL-F4, the dialogue boxes appeared?

TheTeaWizard Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Ok weight set to 100, femaleeager voice used, now skeever but problem solved, as for the follower and no placement on where I put her, for some reason the relationship files dissapeared and she got removed from jorrvaskr, so I added all that and now she's fine again in correct location and saying right stuff and she'll follow me. Problem is, still a neckseam :/
JRCosta Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 The face/body and meshes/textures are compatible, meaning, both from UNP or CBBE, right? The NPC height is set to 1?

JRCosta Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 in game, using the console targeting the follower, type setnpcweight 100 and setnpcheight 1 to see what happens.
TheTeaWizard Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 in game, using the console targeting the follower, type setnpcweight 100 and setnpcheight 1 to see what happens. the npc weight command changed the weight but the neck seam is the same, and there is no setnpcheight command, but she has the height of 1 in the CK anyways
JRCosta Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 The problem is, if you create an NPC, load a game with him, then save that same game and after change some things (like weight) in CK, it will no change ingame because the height/weight of the NPC is stored in the save; if you have done that, please revert to an earlier save that has never loaded the npc. And yes, setnpcheight don't exist, my bad here.

And I just use coc at the main menu when testing out the follower, never use an actual save.
JRCosta Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Ok. Well, that is really weird then. In the CK actor preview window, do you notice the neckseam?

JRCosta Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Well, I'm running out of options... If you are using face/body matching meshes/textures, running the NPC in a clean save after changing the weight and exporting the facegendata correctly, the neck gap should be long gone now... Can you pack her files and share it here so I can test her in my game? What is her body type? UNP or CBBE?

CBBE, but I haven't removed the mod dependencies yet so you'll have to use the esps that come with her file.
TheTeaWizard Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Ok here she is Violet - Follower.rar
JRCosta Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 There is a tool for CBBE for texture blending: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5737/? And one of the uses is for neck gap removal, tutorials here: http://static2.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/5737-1-1370806761.png http://static2.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/5737-2-1370806763.png Could be a texture CBBE problem. Funny that I have only work once with CBBE body (in this follower here) and didn't have any problem using SG textures, it was only CK work, no external tools used... You can give a try with the blending tool (use it careful, make sure you use it ONLY in your NPC) or wait until I give a try at your files later, after work.
JRCosta Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Ok here she is Violet - Follower.rar Ok, just looking at the file structure, the \meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\Violet Follower.esp folder is empty. You forgot to include the nif file there. Same in \textures\Actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Violet Follower.esp , there should be 2 files there that need to be included too. Also the hair textures are not packed, but no problem, I have SG Hairs installed, but for release you should include the textures too - although I'm not sure in Nexus allow assets SG Hairs to be shared. I will probably open this file in CK after remove the mod dependencies. Did you use ECE or just use the CK slides in the face? In this computer I have nifskope but not skyrim, CK or TES5Edit. Edit: Ok, some of the Facegen files are inside \Data\textures\Actors\character\Violet\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Violet Follower.esp; this wouldn't work, must be inside \textures\Actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Violet Follower.esp. Please pack again in the correct folders, so I'm getting exactly the same face you create.
TheTeaWizard Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Here's the updated file. Violet - Follower.rar Also there are no textures in the sg hairs file for the hair my follower is using, I've only got the meshes included in there :/
