love this game 1993 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 everytime i do these objections Augur of Dunlain,Activate the statue of Clavicus Vile,Inhale the fumes and a few others it ctd on me for no reason
germanicus Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 This is solution from swk3000 from neoseeker forum that might help you. Quote: "In non-patched versions of the game, there is a serious bug that causes the game to crash on exiting after you return Umbra to Clavicus Vile. The easiest way to fix this is to install the v.1.1.511 patch. This glitch occurs on both the PC and XBox 360. After Clavicus Vile has asked you to give him the sword, the game will crash, whether you opt to return it to him or keep it for yourself. The glitch is related to the dog statue that appears in your inventory after you receive the quest, through which the Hound of Clavicus Vile speaks to you and tries to convince you not to complete the quest. If you do not want to install the patch, a few workarounds are:You can keep Umbra forever, and never return to talk to Clavicus Vile. The quest will remain forever "active" in your journal. Also, you will be unable to complete Hermaeus Mora's quest. You can get Umbra before Clavicus Vile ever gives you the quest, and thus prevent the dog statue from ever appearing in your inventory. Be sure to first talk to Ma'Raska at Clavicus Vile's shrine, causing the quest to update, telling you that you've found the sword and can speak to Clavicus Vile. Talk to the shrine and the quest will be completed without any glitches. Note that in this case killing Umbra counts as murder. On the other hand, you do not have to pay the 500 gold offering.Other workarounds are less reliable and require very good timing. Return to Clavicus Vile's shrine with Umbra and the dog statuette and talk to Clavicus Vile. As soon as he finishes talking you need to immediately fast travel somewhere else. When the dog then starts to talk to you, open your journal. The timing is critical; it must be as soon as the dog starts talking. If you go to your menu too early, the game will crash when you exit; if you press it too late the game will already be frozen. Repeatedly fast travelling has also been reported to work: as soon as the screen loads, open your journal and fast-travel again, until the notification area in the corner of the screen tells you that the Statuette of a Dog has been removed. Note that if you attempt the repeated fast traveling method, there is still a possibility that the game will crash when you have traveled a certain number of times. The final possible workaround is to load an earlier saved game from before you started this quest, and retrieve the Umbra sword before speaking to Clavicus Vile."

germanicus Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 here are some options: You may choose not to complete this quest in order to instead keep Barbas as an invincible follower. You can receive the gold reward from Lod after speaking with Barbas for the first time, rather than waiting until the quest is finished. Prior to the quest, a leveled conjurer will inhabit Rimerock Burrow. When the quest is started, that conjurer will be renamed Sebastian Lort. With the appropriate dialogue choices, Clavicus Vile will begrudgingly admit that without Barbas, he would be no more powerful than the Dragonborn. If you have not been back to Helgen since the beginning of the game, the eastern gate may be locked and Barbas will be unable to open it. You can pick the lock and open it yourself, but this may push Barbas back into the wall where he'll be trapped. It is enough to unlock the gate, as once unlocked Barbas will be able to open it himself, thus avoiding the aforementioned bug. If you have yet to clear Helgen of the bandits, Barbas may start wandering Helgen aimlessly after helping you kill them.Fast traveling anywhere, even to Helgen, will fix this. or you can accomplish the quest using console command. Read this: 1. First up, in the game, you need to hit the ` key to bring up the console, or the specific key that you assigned this action to.2. Then you need to find out what quests you have active, which can easily be done by typing ‘ShowQuestTargets’ and hitting Enter. In case you have many active quests, however, it won’t really be much help, as there are only so many lines the console can show and you can’t scroll its contents. If you know the name of the quest, you can easily look it up on The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages Wiki, which has a full list of the quests in the game, complete with their ID.3. After finding out what quest you want to progress, you need to enter the ‘Player.sqs’ command, followed by a space and the quest id (final command should look like Player.sqs ). This shows all the stages that are part of this quest, followed by a 1, if you already did it, or a 0, if you didn’t reach it. Bear in mind, however, that there are blank stages, so you might once again want to check out the UESP Wiki to see the actual stages and what they mean.4. Last but not least, you need to introduce the ‘SetStage’ command, followed by the quest id and the stage number (it should look like SetStage ). This will automatically progress through the quest to that intended stage, giving you new objectives and, hopefully, fixing the quest. As a concrete example, say you're stuck on the Dragon Rising quest at the beginning of the game, when the Jarl of Whiterun tells you to investigate a dragon sighting. You need to meet up with Irileth and her guards outside of the town and check out the report. In case she doesn't spawn at that location and you know that the quest id is MQ104, and that the stage in which Irileth should appear is 15, you just need to enter SetStage MQ104 15. This will automatically get you to the next stage, in which you need to kill the dragon.Bear in mind that, while this guide may work without a problem, you should always be cautious and do a hard save before attempting to use the Skyrim console.
germanicus Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 BTW .I have all USKPs and have no problem at all. being doing this quest many times with various characters and always succeeded.

germanicus Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 It looks like you have a problem with many Vanilla quests. I said many since you will have them because there is something wrong with your game. USKPs fixed common issues. Also, maybe some of your mods causing them. Can you provide your load order list?

germanicus Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 There were some mods that you uninstalled but some scripts from that mods are still present. Have you tried to clean your save? And merge your master files? You see, right now, I need more time to go through it since you LOg file and List of mods are very large, but if you answer to those two questions, it will help me a lot.

germanicus Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 OK, fiirs you need to run LOOT 2. Find bash patched 0 esm and drag it to the end of the list. 3. Right click on bash patched 0 esm 4. Choose Rebuild the pach And that's it. If you got reports on errors, that means you missing some master files. In that case, you install them or if you don't want that mod, unckeck/disable the mod from the list.
