Lucky Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 Surprise is rumoured to be an official complete texture and Overhaul for the game.
Kraxon Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Thanks tomfoolery! Special surprise... That could be all kinds of great stuff. If they bring new official HD-textures, I hope they fix the dropping framerates, tho.
Lucky Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 What about the AI - any rumours? None, I am eager for a Marriage overhaul, such a simple and undeveloped system, the dungeon and dialogue creation looks amazingly easy to get to grips with.
Slammer64 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Damn, looks like I'll be buying Skyrim this month then.
Surenas Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Good call, you'll buy Skyrim this month cos it's worth it, no doubt (... and I take your rough men that stand ready in the night for my bed. Deal!)

Guest Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Surprise is rumoured to be an official complete texture and Overhaul for the game. That would be a good guess. http://i.imgur.com/9RKcH.png
Lucky Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 At least a lot of issues I faced in the TES4 creation kit are out of the way like Dialogue menu's and menu's within menu's, it was a mess. This looks clean and new user friendly, which is only a good thing.
Athstai Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Well since we are getting closer to adult entertainment in Skyrim, with the CK soon to be out, I wonder: Are there already any sex animations (without the framework) done yet? I remember a month ago there was some vid with a basic animation but a quick scan in the mod section doesn't reveals anything new.
Lucky Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 Well since we are getting closer to adult entertainment in Skyrim' date=' with the CK soon to be out, I wonder: Are there already any sex animations (without the framework) done yet? I remember a month ago there was some vid with a basic animation but a quick scan in the mod section doesn't reveals anything new. [/quote'] With CK out in 48 hours it means we can easily port previous animations and create new bodies like HGEC much easier than what we are faced with now.
Presto Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Been holding off picking up the PC version until the creation kit came out. Now that it's dropping this week I'll need to find myself a PC copy (hopefully on sale) so I can start modding the game up. Even if the first stream of mods are simply ports from Oblivion I'll be more then happy with all that new content to the game. Once the bigger quest/guild/land mods start coming I won't be able to put the game down.
PhineasColby Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Ok here's the deal... Steam workshop will became the only way for download complex mods? I hope not, because I think the mod should be free, not free advertising for steam.
Guest Donkey Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Where did you read this ?? they said you have an option of uploading to steam not a naccecity to steam. You still have a different option to upload else where. if you don't want to use steam.
Surenas Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 A new double tracked strategy that consists of an old and a new option always leads to the upcoming end of the old option, or there would be no such new option. Got that? That's subtle business, not common welfare...
PhineasColby Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Well guys that's bullshit, If a software house believes it can live on the shoulders of the huge community of modders, without working, and making profit on these, I think you should stop modding a game like that. If they continue like this, I believe that we will not even need an official expansion, which is sad, but not because the mods will be still better, but because they will not do them!
Surenas Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 More likely we'll see a split of the scene at first. That is what the Dark One is seemingly afraid of, and I'd share his concerns.
PhineasColby Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Guys Valve is already selling mods with TF2. Earn money with the mod is not bad, if the mods are totally original stuff. But I wonder, you will share the money with Valve?
Chase Roxand Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I have no intention of using the Steam Workshop to download mods. Even the Nexus Mod Manager is a better option. I see the Steam Workshop only being used to house simple and safe mods. Anything complex (meaning it uses non-standard files/directories, has multiple options, or has a special load order) will be unlikely to work properly there. So sure, the scene will split, but only between casual modders who use the Workshop and advanced modders. Even so, the ease of the Steam Workshop will pull in users who regularly wouldn't use mods.
D_KNIGHT_PEN Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I could see myself only using Steam workshop for simple house/NPC/village type mods and even then i might just decide to stick with NMM.
Surenas Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 ... and keep in mind that a professional designer rooted in the modding scene wouldn't yield his pearls to an online shop community only because there is a silly carrot dangling in front of his/her nose. Don't even think of it.

I hope not' date=' because I think the mod should be free, not free advertising for steam. [/quote'] also don't forget the auto update aspect where it will download and instal every odd screwy version the mod author slaps up there.... I can see the headache from trouble shooting now....and I'll keep my Bain thnaks
