Have you always wanted to fight alongside the holiest of Sunbro's, the Firstborn(maybe?) of Lord Gwyn, Solaire of Astora himself in the flesh?

 

Well now you can! Solaire can be found in the Four Shields Tavern(lol get it, like the 4 Knights of Gwyn?) in the town of Dragon Bridge(lol get it, like the bridge in the Undead Burg?). He will follow you, trade, and perform actions. He is also essential so I don't think sacrificing him to Boethiah might be a good idea. Why would you do that, though?

 

NOTE

If Solaire's voiced lines aren't playing, download the hotfix.

I don't usually download follower mods but I'll keep this one in mind for my next playthrough for sure.

If I knew how to animate and hook it up in-game, I'd love for him to teach the player the Praise The Sun gesture.

 

If Ornstein's armor gets ported, maybe? I dunno spears don't exist so the Dragonslayer Spear would probably have to be a staff that shot lightning or something stupid like that.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! So I understand dawnguard might be nice because of vamps, but is it necessary for our favorite sunbro? I would honestly rather donate the price of the add-on content to you than buy it, cause lezbihonest, Solaire is far grander of an "add-on".  Can you please make a version that doesn't require Dawnguard? I want my buddy...

The mod required Dawnguard because Solaire has shock-bolts and a crossbow in his inventory, and a future update will use Dawnguard content. I apologize, but it's on sale right now so just get it. Or don't, pirating DLC works with legitimately obtained copies of the game. I'd still say buy it since it's a fantastic quest line and supporting Bethesda is what not-assholes who enjoy TES should do but I'm not here to sell you copies or be a moral adviser.

Immersive Weapons is garbage and so are it's spears. I do know the fantastic Dark Souls Weapons by iz has a Dragonslayer spear in it but the animations are horrible by virtue of engine limitations(it's considered a Greatsword I think?).

 

Also, I am working on thinking up ideas for a quest after doing some more work on another project. If anybody has any ideas they might like to see in something along those lines, feel free to leave suggestions!

 

EDIT: Apparently I am blind and hadn't seen XiNAVRO ported the Dragonslayer armor, I may just incorporate Ornstein in some way.

UPDATE: I bought Dawnguard to use your mod. Then I realized that it has problems with UFO. Actually, damn near all the follower mods I've tried have problems with UFO. Or at least they do if you don't install the followers from the very beginning. Next play-through I'm either gonna make sure I have Solaire installed from the get-go or I'm just gonna disable UFO entirely.

I agree with what Nixea says, EFF is a far better solution as UFO is broken and buggy from my experience with it. If EFF doesn't work either, I suggest Amazing Follower Tweaks, as it's also pretty dang good.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've seen people say there can be issues with AFT also, so I was like "da F am I gonna use???" Haha.

I don`t know if you still read this, but I have a problem, solaire only ever uses his lighting spells and not his sword, could a mod of mine cause this?

I think this is mostly just the combat of Skyrim working the way it does. I highly recommend opening the .esp with the creation kit and finding Solaire(all content added by me starts with the prefix RMP_) and then removing spells learned. He should then use his sword and shield more. Also, try looking into seeing if your follower overhaul of choice has playstyle options for followers. I'm not sure if any of them actually do but it's worth a shot.

Great mod, the dialog makes it a must have in my game, any chance of a Shiva follower?  there's a set of Eastern Armor here  He had a good amount of dialog in Darj Souls and some of it would work well for a follower.
