I'm having a few issues with Break Armor.

Break armor outfits (whether they're equipped on my character or on NPCs) automatically unequip outta nowhere, even if they're not damaged. Not only that, they don't automatically reequip.

The whole 'breaking' isn't working properly either. The outfit's hitpoints lower but the outfit isn't swapped. At least not automatically. I've tried using 'player.setequippedcurrenthealth XX XX' and it did work.

I also seem to be getting these console messages. I haven't been paying much attention to them but now I'm pretty sure they only pop up when the script is supposed to change the outfits.

(don't know how to upload images here; tried using the image embedding function to an imgur link but it didn't work so I'll link to it directly)

Also worth noting is that I've used Break Armor before and installed it the same way playing with almost the exact same plugins and didn't have this issue before. The only difference now is that I've installed the OOO .ini file which changes how durable Break Armor outfits are.

Hmm.

Did you try making a clean save and reinstalling it?

Basically Break Armor doesn't leave any footprint on your game. You can safely delete it any time.

Posted

I have both BreakArmor.esp and zBUArmors.esp enabled and much higher up in my LO, in my Armor MODs grouping as per the BOSS masterlist. This should be less critical for BreakArmor.esp vs. zBUArmors.esp; I do it mostly as a convenience for quickly locating them in my LO.

I'd also as a test try disabling all setbody MODs and see if it persists. Also make sure there are no Lovers related MODs included in your Bashed Patch, most especially those that include scripts. Is LoversStripper both enabled and active in-game? I'd target that next if disabling and testing doesn't fix the issue. I don't use OOO, so no help there. It may be a scripting conflict between OOO and the break armor MODs.

Have you correctly configured your related ini files? You can always post them here for review, preferably in a set of spoiler tags.

And adding images to your posts is fairly easy. Look for the More Reply Options button, right next to the Post button and click it. Scroll down and just below the text box for creating new posts is a Choose Files... button for adding files, including image files. I like using XnView as it allows you to greatly reduce image file size with it's Export feature.

Alright, I SEEM to have fixed the issue but I'll have to test it further in actual combat. I'll edit this post later with further info.

I tried simply replacing the existing files in my Data folder with the mod files after making a clean save and I broke things even further. Not even 'player.setequippedcurrenthealth XX XX' worked anymore. Decided to start things over and delete every file related to both zBUarmors and BreakArmor and reinstall both mods properly. I've tested with the console command aforementioned and the meshes swapped normally, then I went beyond that and added some repair hammers through the console to repair the armor bit by bit. That seems to work as well as the meshes get swapped properly.

Now I'll test it with the OOO esp. Will report back.

Alright, something is weird here. I'm not sure if this is a problem with how I installed the mod or if the ESP itself is broken.

With the regular "zBUarmors" ESP, the mod functions perfectly (at least so far). With the OOO changed armor rating ESP, the third and the fourth chest in testinghall turn respectively into 'Weapon Chest' and 'Misc Chest' with nothing inside of them.

Third update and back to square one... kinda.

After reinstalling both mods like said above, BA clothing and armor still unequip themselves outta nowhere. I also still seem to be getting the script error messages on the console.

On the upper hand, the whole breaking is working properly now, both manually and automatically.

Tried moving them around in my LO (as high as possible, basically). Didn't do anything.

Well, I've always used SetBody with Break Armor and it always worked flawlessly together. Not sure how they could be conflicting. Same thing with LoversStripper.

Also made sure that no LPK plugins are in my Bashed Patch.

I've left the .ini file as it came. Never touched it.

Have you tried looking at conflicts via OBMM? Then you can try TES4Edit to look at conflict details.

BA clothing and armor still unequip themselves outta nowhere.

That reads like a conflicting scipt in two different MODs; they are both changing out armor. My guess is OOO.

Targeting the setbody MODs was because they too will swap a body as a clothing item, over the existing mesh. Since I have no idea which versions of these you're using it was a stab in the dark. LoversStriper, same thing. It controls removal of clothing/armor items. I'd personally turn those off as it narrows down MODs that have an affect on armor/clothing items. You can always enable them later.

Again this is pointing to something amiss with "OOO changed armor rating ESP".

*snip*

OBMM doesn't point out anything, as far as my OBMM knowledges go.

I'm using AutoSetBody and SetBody Reloaded like I always did along with BA (http://www.loverslab.com/topic/13908-gerra-and-movomos-setbody-reloaded/).

LoversStripper would be a potential conflict candidate if not for the fact that other NPCs are also unclothing. I've also used it previously with BA flawlessly.

I've switched back to the regular ESP before testing out anything. I'm certain the issue isn't with zBUarmors.esp anyway, as these only add new armors that use BreakArmor.esp. I was using Vanilla Break Armor (which has nothing to do with zBUarmors) and the same thing was happening.

Posted

It does. If you open OBMM, on the right are buttons and one has old and new conflict detectors. Running that (new is somewhat better) , it can take some time to run, but it will identify your existing conflicts, not a lot of detail though. For detail you need to learn to use TES4Edit, it IS our friend. These, along with others are the tools used to identify Oblivion issues and allow intermediate and advanced users to solve issues, eventually on their own.

I've also used it previously with BA flawlessly.

Yes, to your points on Setbody related MODs and LoversStriper. But somewhere along the way your configuration has changed; adding new or more MODs, changing LO, etc. The idea is to minimize anything running scripts against changing/adding/removing stuff to bodies, so you can eventually localize the script conflict(s), which may be nothing more than a delay in firing/timing, caused by another script in a MOD you use. (It may also be possible you have reached a resource limit, but that can harder to troubleshoot.)

Also, zBUarmors was a compilation done (mostly) by greagthit, whereas BreakArmor was a brand new approach, initially by gerra6. Similar functionality but still very separate MODs, both with there own ini files as I recall, and even pointing to different NIFs. You may want to begin examining your ini files for both and the paths and files names for your NIFs for these.

In my configuration, since I already had zBUarmors loaded and actively running the way I wanted, I did not feel compelled to drop it and switch just to BreakArmor, so I run both. Any new Break armors I add to the BreakArmor ini, not the zBUarmors ini. I imagine you could add all of the zBUarmors to BreakArmor and do away with the zBUarmors.esp altogether, but it is not what I decided to do.

Posted

"doing away" with the zBUarmors.esp won't help you.  Doing so will result in you having no way to obtain the custom armors.  zBUarmors is not a replacer plugin. It has no dirty edits and nothing that will conflict with anything else.  It simply adds a shit load of armors to chests in the testing hall.  That's it.

Now the BreakArmor project IS a replacer which means it replaces vanilla armors with breakable armor versions.

So you can see, you are dealing with two completely separate plugins\issues here.

Posted

"doing away" may not have been the best choice of words at near 2AM, but as mentioned I didn't pursue it since it works the way I like now; if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Curious gregathit, since I don't use it. Was the OOO version fork also equally matured as you progressed? See the above comment, post 5 "With the OOO changed armor rating ESP, the third and the fourth chest in testinghall turn respectively into 'Weapon Chest' and 'Misc Chest' with nothing inside of them"

Also, yes that BreakArmor was originally designed as a vanilla armors replacer MOD, but it can be reworked/reconfigured to be a non-replacer, which is what I (eventually) did in my build. I'm doing the same for elalquimista's recent Mass Outfit Redesign.

Dropping off this thread now as I feel my Oblivion configuration has matured and evolved beyond me being of any help to the OP. Especially since they use OOO and I don't.

The OOO esp file was a custom deal I did for OOO 1.33.  It may be that version 1.35 is not compatible with it.  OOO version 1.35 no longer contains loose files (everything is packed in a bsa file) so that may "break" the OOO esp file that I made.  Just a theory, because the OOO esp file did work for bunches of folks for quite a while.  These recent complaints about it not working are the first complaints I have ever heard regarding it.

Edit:  make certain the OOO esp patch from pack version 2 overwrites pack version 1's OOO esp patch, or you won't have anything from pack version 2...... ;)

You also need to wait three days for the chests to "respawn".

Posted

As gregathit stated, I am indeed having issues with two different plugins it seems. The regular zBUarmors ESP works just fine by doing what it is supposed to, but the one that changes the armor rating value to OOO-like values gives me the issues I stated above (a few BA armor chests are renamed in testinghall - some of which don't have anything inside of them).

Well, I guess I won't be using it since you said it might be incompatible with OOO 1.35. I'm kinda starting to regret upgrading from 1.33 to 1.35... first Aphrodisia, now this. :-/

NOW, for the issue with BreakArmor itself, I haven't been able to quite pin down how often armors randomly unequip, but it seems it always happens when my character switches cells. I could be mistaken, but so far after testing around, it won't randomly unequip while my character is in battle, sleeping, looting or anything like that. Quite frankly it annoys me a bit but it's not that much of an issue. I'd close this thread as 'solved' but will leave it open for now if anyone spots anything wrong with my load order and perhaps in the near future has the same issue, or perhaps if I have an update on this.

Also Varenne, I did check with OBMM's new conflict detector, nothing was conflicting with BreakArmor itself it seems.

Posted

Yeah, I know the non-OOO is complete and has items in all chests.

One last stab in the dark for the OOO related ESP. Did you try running/rerunning archive invalidate (redirect option) via OBMM? If as gregathit pointed out above that OOO 1.35 now uses a BSA archive, doing so would redirect Oblivion to then use the loose files in your current build. (If you've already decide not to upgrade, just disregard this idea.)

Otherwise you'd have to unpack the OOO BSA file, add the correct meshes and repack it. A lot of work for very little return on play, IMO. And any future version upgrades would also have to potentially be reworked, every time you upgrade.
