(REQ) Blood spray texture

Hello community,

my head is spinning from an idea that some of you might also want to see realized in the game, because it would be a great benefit to Skyrims immersion and coolness. Well, I'll try to keep this short. But please forgive me for indulging you with a small introduction: if you enjoy watching movies from Tim Burton (like Sweeney Todd and Dark Shadows) as much as I do, you probably also like scenes where gallons of blood are being sprayed across the scenery.

Unfortunately I did not find any mod adding this kind of texture / effect to the game. There is, of course, the texture of a different kind of "liquid" sprayed upon the character, but... well, I guess, you know, what I am talking about. Different motive, to make it short.

So, my question: I presume that it is possible, to apply an effect that triggers after certain vanilla animations in the game; for starters: beheading and "finishing moves" with melee weapons - plus wearwolf & vampire kills. The effect should be a nice spray on the avatar, that may even wear of after a certain amount of time. I guess, one could use the already existing mods out there, and change the color to a light-red (remember: blood from the arteries is not as dark as the blood from the veins); plus, the triggering effect should be exchanged. For obvious reasons.

My question would be: is it possible, to add this kind of effect to the game, and would there be someone willing to do the dirty work? Thanks in advance for your interest and your reply.

Use Crimson Tide and add this to your skyrim.ini to make the blood stay on the avatar's body for a while:

I use this cause Skyrim wasn't bloody enough: Crimson Tide

Add in Deadly Mutilation and Dance of Death and you get some really bloodspilling gory kills. :D

Using Deadly Mutilation is a very bad idea though; the incompactibility with any other skelettons makes it hardly usable together with other mods.

Oh, you're right about Deadly Mutilation, forgot that it was kinda old.

Hello everyone,

thanks very much for your replies. The mods mentioned so far are familiar to me, but the blood film on the character looks like some kind of ... well smear.. blur... I don't know the right word for it, but it doesn't look like something a makeup artist would describe as blood spray / film.

Don't get me wrong - I do like those mods, but it is not the effect I was thinking about. Take a look on those mods adding (moving) semen textures to the game; I'm quite sure that a lot of people would love to see their avatar with a dense film of blood drops running down. That somewhat makes a vampire a much more believable "race" - since a vampire might like a blood bath as much as we do love to take a bath in gold coins. Err... you'll get the impression.

On the other hand, there are several "weather related mods" that change the appearance of the character (like "get snowy" e.g.), meaning that the neccessary effort is small compared to the attention / applause / endorsements / thanks the creator might receive. From my inexperienced point of view: adding a moving blood texture might be something completely new to the game - therefore might be very much desired.

As mentioned before, if someone shares the enthusiasm of this idea, please feel free to take all the credit - I don't need it, but I would love to see it in the game, as hopefully many others users, too.
