Version Control Hell

Recommended Posts

About 40 minutes ago I tried to add DG and DB strings to the SkyrimEditor.ini. Somehow I triggered version control (which I couldn't reverse) when I did this.

How can I add strings while avoiding this problem?

I uninstalled the CK, then reinstalled, so it's working now, but I haven't done the bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 yet, and I haven't tried to add any strings for now.

Somebody better help. or I'll stab a monkey.

Then all you should have to do is add Dawnguard.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa to SResourceArchiveList2=

Mine looks like:

SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

So long as that's all you're changing I have no idea why version control would be getting turned on as, by default, it should already be disabled.

The SkyrimEditor.ini didn't even have a line for version control.

[General]

bUseVersionControl=0

Those are the first and second lines in my SkyrimEditor.ini.  If you don't have them and you start getting version control notifications again, add that and maybe they will go away.

I did add that, but it didn't go away.

I don't have a clue what the deal is then.  If the messages are preventing you from using the CK, maybe backup and delete your ini file to have the CK generate a new one.  Other than that, I've got nothin'.

Thanks. Next time I add strings, I'll check it out.
