Sunja44 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I just wanted to praise this tool http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/? some more. Especially here on LL with dozens of mods in continous WIP or beta state it does make so much sense. I can only guess how often I was able to make good use of this tool yet.
Killikrates~2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I overloaded my most recent game and had freezes and ctds, the save game script tool helped me determine SIC + HLE was my biggest script hog. I deleted my saves and removed SIC + HLE from my load order (nothing wrong with those mods, its just a matter of choices I guess) and started new, but it was the script tool that let me figure it out. +1 to your reference to WIP & alpha / beta mods, this tool is invaluable if you have to uninstall from an ongoing game save you don't want to loose.
germanicus Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I'm with you Sigurd. It is a brilliant mod indeed.
cornbreadtm Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Great mod but wouldn't be as necessary if modders took as much care as Goubo did with Defeat, to add proper uninstall scripts to their mods. I just hope modders don't start to use the script cleaner as a crutch instead of learning how to keep their scripts clean and simple. People tend to take short cuts when they know a problem can be remedied.

People tend to take short cuts when they know a problem can be remedied. Considering such features take time to not only implement but also to learn how Skyrim handles your specific things; therefore it would rarely be plausible to included in early versions of mods anyway - even if the mod author knows about it, and plans on implementing it. So it's not as much just a short cut taken because they know it can be remedied, but because of limited resources and it's much more interesting to advance a mod than to just add maintenance when you have time to work on it. That's why mod authors post "WIP" and "Beta" and warnings and stuff like that so the user knows what to expect.
Suludi Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 +1 to hymn of praise. The save game cleaner rescued some of my favourite saves.
