How do I use a Second install of Skyrim for LL mods?

I copied my Skyrim folder before I installed ANY mods on it... however SKSE and FNIS seem to run on my "stock" version and not the modded copy, I've got the "Stock" version in a totally different folder from the modded one but I have FNIS and SKSE in the modded one's folder...

Anyone know how to get them to run the modded version instead?  I keep trying but it always starts the unmodded version.

Mod Organizer.

Seriously, all of its jazz about "virtual folders" actually works.

The SKSE will have to be applied to the stock unmodded Skryim, but MO can be told to launch the SKSE executable instead of the default skyrim one.

No idea where to get that, I've actually got TWO seperate installs of Skyrim, one has the mods and SKSE in, the other is bone stock... was hoping to not screw with the stock one at all...

well, it's sort of working, but whenever I try and select a female character model it crashes the game, I'm using UNP body so that shouldn't be an issue really...  I do notice the leg twitching like mad though shortly before it crashes...

Edit:- definately something relating to the selection of a female form from male, guessing that could be an issue with SoS or UNP body type, or some form of conflict between them.  Will start with a fresh copy tomorrow and try again, might need to use Nexus mod manager and not bother with a secondary "vanilla copy"... bit annoying but never mind.

did you installed a tbbp skeleton? just curios because its necessary for unpb, install that with MO also. without a tbbp compatible skeleton = all females will crash your game.

I installed the one recommended by the Mod from here...  XP32's Max skeleton... and it's still doing it, but only when I try and create a female character... Intereting.  I've only got basic mods installed at the moment, no sextrigger mods at all...

SkyUI, Sexlab framework, FNIS, SKSE, Apachii Skyhair 1_5 and female 1_4 (apparently they should be okay, and give me more hair styles to pick from), HDT Heels, UPB Demionised Skinny, XP32's skeleton (XPMS is it?  If not it is NOT being listed by Mod Organiser, I had to do it manually following their instructions), Adult real Werewolves... a couple of small clothing mods which shouldn't affect it too much.

From what you'ree saying it's an issue with XPMS (the skeleton mod), which was installed manually following the instructions on the mods nexus page...

EDIT:- I've re-installed the skeleton using mod organiser...  it's gone in but I'm still getting a long laggy load up of female character in character creation and then a crash...

Get RaceMenu. It now has a 'cachekiller' fix built-in that will solve your crash issues when switching to a female PC (it has to do with the game being unable to load all of the hair and such all at once). Plus RaceMenu will give you a better control and options over your character's creation than vanilla Skyrim's character creation system.

Worked a treat!  Thanks for that.  Hopefully no more crashes...  Just have to install the other bits I need now.

Downside is I'm not sure I actually like the RaceMenu mod, makes character creation more difficult due to increased options which can sometimes mess things up...

You could try using ECE (Enhanced Character Edit) instead. It's more like the vanilla interface, but it has a few more sliders (and the XPMS Extended skeleton adds more ECE sliders to further tweak your character and weapon placement).

But you'll want a mod called "pre-cache killer" as well, which can be found on Nexus.

Sod it...  everything I try breaks the game...  guess there's just too much incompatability.  I'll try Calliente's body mods and the Succubus Race again on a clean install and then add bits slowly...  because I don't use KBM control (I have a gaming pad) it's a bit difficult to access some of the mod trigger keys...  I got a message that Hadvaar wanted to rape a stormcloak but he'd killed it before I could trigger anything....  Lol.  I tried a Necro mode and it crashed the game...  Might give some mods a go but one by one due to issues I've had with the files using the same names in Mod Organiser and deleting eachother...
