hello,

i encounter such weird thing in skyrim - i add some new equip mods, but there was 1 item i cant equip, even if i was totaly naked I could not equip it, so i look around console commands and i notice i worn 1 no named invisible equiped item with code "10040f0c"

i try doing "removeitem" commands and even trying to delete it with console - with no effects, i trying to search that item from id code in skyrim nexus mod site where i ussualy supplies up with mods - again for no effects, i could simple delete mod including <this> but have no idea which one is it, and i use a bit lot of them and unselecting them one by one and checking would take some time.

meybe someone of you could help me with it?

sorry for english - its not mine national.

i uses oryginal steam skyrim version with all 3 dlc and heavly moded.

Did you have an armor or clothing mod that you removed before this happened? The most likely reason for that happening is that you had a mod that adds clothing or armor to the game and removed the mod while still wearing the clothing. The games scripting system will still say the slot is used but since the items mod is removed you can no longer remove the item from your inventory slot. It could have been a mod for something small such as jewelry, knapsacks, basically any mod that adds a body item could be at blame.

That looks like an orphaned item lock from Deviant Devices.

Could you try player.removeitem 10040F0C 1 again in the console just to make sure. That should be able to remove it.

If that doesn't work then there is probably an active mod monitoring it. If you check your load order the mod in question should be at position 10 (the 16th esp or esm in your list).

@bradleyh - 16th position from top is "Devious Devices - integration"

@corespore i have lot of armor/clothing mods, but i still uses them, but like those 2 guys says - it might be DD item, but i never use any of them, i just instal DD to make other mods working so i wonder "how"

@Sailing Rebel - i tried using remove item console command - but it dont work! i even spam it like hell.

i link mine load order, i notice that DD-integration is above DD-assets and i think it should be swaped. ill try it

OK, in mcm menu of DD i find information about - i think - that item, it occupy item slot 60 and can be changed and indeed - i can freely change it, but its still <have to be equipped> well ... meybe i have at least 1 free item slot to spare :P

thx for help with tracking it, i think problem is, more or less, resolved ... but as i'm already here - there is any way to check what item take what slot? via mod, or console?

and how you guys know that problem was made via mod on "16 place in load order"? - that knowlage might help me in future :P

The item is the DD-DeviceHider. It's, as the name suggests, responsible for hiding devices when another is worn (like if you wear a pice of armor in slot-32 and the belt is clipping through it badly, you can set Device-Hider so that slot-32 hides the belt to resolve the clipping issue). The Device hider is invisible and the slot it uses can be reconfigured.

On another note, you should probably move SkyUI further up the list so it comes before ZaZ and the DD mods (and any other mod that has an McM menu, and thus depends on it).

You guys recognized an item by it's console code? Well damn, color me impressed.

i cant move SkyUI more on top, it blocked somehow, i can only lower it

That's because all the ones above it are .esm files, that's as far as your going to get any .esp to go. You had it right the first time.

Google LOOT, and use LOOT to set Your Load Order. LOOT is the replacement for BOSS.

The first two digits of an Item indicates the Load Order of the Mod the Item is from. Your Screenshot shows the way it works, Load Order 00 = Index 1 :)

Coopervane fortunately knew exactly what the Item was.
