Crashes on Startup: Brainstorming

So here's the thing my Skyrim is crashing, again. On startup, I have no idea why it does the bullshitty thing that it does. Before you ask, no, it's not load order. No, it is not missing masters or any of that. This is something entirely different. Let me tell you what I've been doing since last we spoke on my last CTD problem (how many have there been? Six? I don't know, anymore). I've switched to Mod Organizer from NMM. I downloaded and installed the following:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16084/? - Ars Metallica

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39959/? - FS Ultimate Assortment

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35399/? - Book Covers

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37121/? - Whiterun Mansion

http://dev-c.com/skyrim/scriptdragon - Script Dragon

As is the case, when you switch between mods managers that are completely different, you essentially have to reinstall all your mods. I spent more than six hours trying to do that when I realized there are much more easier ways of installation. Anyway, I thought I should at least check if Skyrim is working properly. To find out that it doesn't AT ALL. It crashed on startup. I wasn't done with reconstructing my hyper-modded Skyrim so I remained optimistic. I learned more about how Mod Organizer worked by watching some tutorials posted on Nexus (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53790/?). They gave me some useful tips on how to run 3rd party executables. I ran all except FNIS without any errors. What happened with FNIS was that is couldn't load one of the creature files. After a little search, I found that all user of FNIS and Mod Organizer experience this problem. I read one comment that said "The problem goes away of after 3 warning have been spotted for every creature" or something like that. I didn't have the patience to sit through it and on the same comment it said that "Problem is negligible" so I just ran Skyrim after finishing its compilation. And it crashed, again. This is where I started to get worried. After a little messing around, I found a master loaded after it dependant so I quickly fixed that. But when I ran it again, nothing had changed. It crashed and I was at a loss. I thought perhaps FNIS was causing the issue so I tried to install FNIS and its related mods manually. Directly to Skyrim folder. Ran it again. It did not even budge. I crashed a third time. I ended up uninstalling Skyrm in a fit of rage and frustration. So I ask you:

1) What are the exact causes of CTD on startup for Skyrim?

2) Is FNIS capable of CTD on start up?

3) Does Mod Organizer have nasty anti-piracy countermeasures built-in?

4) WHY DOES ******* SKYRIM CRASH ON STARTUP?

Disclaimer: Even though I ran a torrent version of Skyrim, I am not asking for help on an illegitimate Skyrim. I already uninstalled it and I won't reinstall until I get the Steam version. This, at the moment, is a brainstorming thread on why crashes on startup happen, and for me a 'preempitve method' for when I get the legitimate version.

I don't know what to tell you. I just refreshed my computer and reinstalled Skyrim and it won't launch now. I get past the Bethesda logo, see the Skyrim dragon logo and it CTDs. I could launch via the vanilla Skyrim launcher earlier. Then I set up MO and installed mods then it crashes (and LOOT and MO both say it's all good). I even tried launching it vanilla and it just won't go anymore, and the only difference since it launched before is I added SKSE. I even reinstalled SKSE to no avail.

So I'm in the same boat I guess.

Since you did a vanilla re-install, make sure you're not still using the old ini files from the old installation. For Win7, go into User\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim and get rid of both ini files. Then run the game from the Skyrim Launcher (Not MO or NMM) and this will force the game to create new ini files. These need to be copied to MO as well.

It's a shot in the dark but it's all I can think of since I did a vanilla re-install myself a week ago in this manner and it went just fine.

I just had an idea. I ran into a problem the same problem with Fallout 3 and the solution I used for it just might for Skyrim. The idea is; creating a merged patch for Skyrim. What I did for Fallout 3 was combine all mods and make it a 'Big Mush of Everything'. Theoretically, it should work for Skyrim.

HDT if not installed can crash on start up because of world hight system.

DXenduser latest?

Microsoft framework latest installed?

Have you remove everything from NMM?

Have you run skyrim ones through launcher and then always through SKSE?

OC CPU can also cause crashes.

Background virus programs can also CTD.

When doing a new install always good your character go to default stage then save in single cell without NPC'S so when new game you have absolutely no corrupted save or missing files which in vanilla not present yet.

Good luck.

It was installed.

DXenduser latest?

I don't know what that is.

Microsoft framework latest installed?

I believe so.

'Yup.

If you mean my first time having installed Skyrim, then yes. If you mean after installation, I'm afraid not.

OC CPU can also cause crashes.

I assume that means overclocked. No, my CPU is not overclocked.

Background virus programs can also CTD.

You mean anti-viruses, right? I'll see if I have any.

I wish it opened up the main menu allowed me load a save so I can see it. But I'll keep that in mind.

Never mind my previous posts and issue. I got a corrupt/broken Apachii Skyhair file from Nexus and a mod that required it was CTDing me because of it.

So I went through a lot of nonsense for almost nothing. But I did get it figured out eventually.
