The perfect hi-res head specular?

I'm using the 4K CBBE textures from Caliente Female Body Mod BBE v3-2-2666-3-2-3, which are awesome.

 

Well, the body textures are awesome. The head specular included in that pack looks like it was scrap-booked together from cut out bits and pieces.

 

I've been trying to find a decent head specular map and I've been through...

Lith

Natvesea

Coverwomen

the latest CBBE pack

Glossy CBBE

Alternative CBBE textures

 

None of them work really well to match the body. They're all either too bright or too low resolution and I'm getting a 'granulated' look on my PC's face, which looks awful compared to how great the body specular looks.

 

So, my fellow CBBE users, may I ask... what specular are you using on yer heds? (sic)

 

Is there a 4K one out there somewhere? I need the perfect face blend to match that 4K body texture.

 

I would have a go at editing one of the speculars I have now, but I'm using paint.net and it seems to compress .dds files horribly. Whenever I save one, it lowers the resolution and I end up with pixel-face.

body, hand and face textures should always come from a mod!
if you use different mods, will arise always error "neck seam, hand seam", it would be a coincidence that you can find even appropriate!

Yes, that's a good rule of thumb, but I've found that it's not 'written in stone' law. Especially when we have wonderful tools like texture blend at our disposal... and specular maps are a different animal entirely. No colors to match up.

 

Anyway, I tried the specular that came in the pack with the 4K body textures and it is only 1K and very pixelated around the mouth and nose. Many of the alternatives I have tried look much better... but still not perfect.

 

I'm not having neck/hand seam issues.

 

What I'm looking for is a hi-res (perferably 4K) head specular that matches well with the CBBE 4K body.

 

Anybody have any suggestions?

you can do it once using this texture try, it is far higher as 4K.

Unfortunately, those are just skin re-textures. They need the specular maps from the original Natvesea pack (which I've already tried)

or otherwise be prepared to get hell time to fix things (i do just minor changes like lips from one, eyes from another and belive its hell to fit that correct that)

And there's also the "sweat" from Fair Skin Complexion.

 

Both of those are favorites I cycle through.

I actually might go back to this one, it's been a long time.

SG textures or XCE have very good specular maps.

 

I toned down xce's speculars for personal use because it was too intense for my enb. In case you wanna try it out tho, there you go:
