Bittercup Companion TTW

Tobar IS pretty creepy. But Bittercup seems to hit on anything still breathing (and in some cases barely breathing) so that could be funny. All I need to do is warp her to the dock when the player agrees to go to Point Lookout the first time. Easy enough.

 

I just worry about all these timer quests I keep making. If anybody has looked at the scripts that's why I'm speeding up and slowing down quest delays all the time. Hopefully that will keep things from getting messy. It would be a simple matter to just edit the quest scripts (like they do for vanilla companions) but then say hello to incompatibilities! :dodgy:

Sorry for the delays. I've been playing Skyrim and making clothes for Oblivion lately. (In between all the holidays.)

 

I've got Bittercup's swim handling working well and added some comments if you make her walk around "in the buff". :cool:  OWB is done also. Basically what's left:

  • The Thorn (should be quick)
  • Swim outfit dialog. (Only complicated by making it voiced.)
  • Dead Money (Not too bad, partially done.)
  • Point Lookout: fix the entry part. (Basically just add a check to make her disappear during your first trip.)
  • The Pitt...  This is going to be the most complicated out of everything. But in the end, probably not all that hard. :lol:

When I get the swim outfit dialog spliced together I'll release another update. :lol:

Oh yeah, I finished her Dead Money outfit. (Not sure if I posted this previously or not. I can't be bothered to check my own thread! LOL!)

And I forgot one thing on my list above: Bittercup's Perk. I just need to add some scripting to add and remove it.

Heh, yeah that what I was thinking. She probably wakes up before the player and has time to "modify" the "stupid white uniform thing".

 

You know, I may make her say something like "FINALLY!" when you first greet her when Dead Money starts. :cool:

I have an update sitting here. Just need to tweak some things and get it uploaded. Currently trying to FINALLY decide on her dialog for the swimsuit thing. :D

 

If I can steer clear of installing Morrowind (haven't started yet) should be hopefully soon!

Alright, got the dialog for the swimwear done finally. Currently it will be under tactics (for lack of a better spot at the moment). Still need to test it but I'll try to do that the next chance I get. After it's confirmed working I'll upload the next update. From there it's Dead Money and the Pitt. (And I haven't forgotten about the wonkiness with Point Lookout's boat ride either!)

 

I'll probably put Morrowind off a bit still. Wouldn't want it to suffer because of Skyrim's issues. :blush:

 

EDIT: Right, and I need to get the perk added too! This is what happens when I take a break from a project! :angel:

What's up with Ling's anyway? Did it disappear from the Nexus or something?

 

Just managed to test the new dialog for swimming and it seems to work. Next second I get I'll upload the new version. :blush:

 

EDIT: Apparently I found THAT second! :angel:

 

New version includes...

  • OWB handling but please note I haven't actually tested it yet. It may fail horribly. She's supposed to warp to X-something medical facility where the player must save her. Only it's behind a forcefield so you need the zappy gun thing first. I should also note this is the first time a vanilla cell is directly edited. I figured it was just simpler than writing a bunch of code to warp all the changes I needed to the cell.
  • Swimming is confirmed to work. She has a new custom TypeN bikini I made but you can change it via the tactics dialog.
  • More idle chatter. She now makes comments about walking around in the buff. (If the player or some other mod removes her gear.)

Whoops! Forgot to clean things up with FONVEdit! (I've been using Oblivion's CS lately which is less.. "persnickety". Sorry!) :lol:

 

Next up is Dead Money and well... actually testing a few of these DLCs myself. The goal is wipe off the BETA tag by the time things hit 2.0. :blush: :blush:

 

EDIT: I keep posting something and then remembering I forgot to mention stuff!

 

Regarding Dead Money. I'm thinking of giving the player the option to tell Bittercup to hang back with any of the vanilla companions during the casino opening scene. For instance she can stick around with Dean as an optional way to talk him into staying there. Or she can stick around with Christine and make sure she gets out of there. I suppose even sticking around with the stupid mutie as well. Might add a little more immersion.

Well I'd switch to Mikoto for myself but I'm already sort of locked in with Ling's Pretty Things at the moment. I prefer some of those faces to NV Redesigned or whatever name it's going by now. (Why do people change the name of mods so often???) :lol:

Unless of course Mikoto's would work with that. At some point I'll have to check.

Huh, just checked on my version and there aren't any errors. I'll download whatever the heck I released and check that out too when I get a chance. Might have given everybody the wrong esp. (It's happened before!!) :angel:

 

EDIT: What am I thinking? Just check out my current version: bittercup_comp.esp   Are you getting errors with FNVEdit on this one too?

Although If you check willow for errors you don't get them any more...

 

No, these errors are very particular, non-existent in an older version of Nessa's bittercup which I have reverted back to and show up when you right click the mod and 'check for errors'. Not while the mod is being loaded in xedit like the old errors people used to mention regarding Willow.
