What you'll see below is utter junk in comparison to the divines of modding. I just did this as a test to see if I could possibly pull it off. I haven't touched 3ds max for a couple years, and I never felt comfortable with the program. Surprisingly enough, after messing with mods over the years, I had less trouble trying the second time. Especially due to this spectacular guide. The real reason I'm posting this is to show that even a noob modder like me could pull something like this off: SFW: [video=dailymotion']http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xnyinm_tesv-chsbhc-animated-armor-test_na I really love this body style (CHSBHC BBP), and I wish more people would try their own hands at making armor/clothes for it. On a side note, in the guide it lists to copy over the BSLightingShaderProperty, and I used this same method with NialphaProperty. Not sure if this is required for it, but knowing how things are far from perfect in import/export style I used this way. I may decide to try my hand at finishing this, or trying another. Though I must say, the 100% slider breasts are quite a challenge to mold to >.<. (at least for a novice that needs to learn more of the tools available in 3dsmax). I do have one question though...How do you, on both armor and clothes make the boobs perfectly even on both sides? (besides just utter bad ass skill?) Awweee cant see the pic Also i added the Alpha part to the FAQ section because I forgot to add that part as the example we had didnt use the Alpha As far as having them the same (It just looks that way) with the armor It just takes me a little time to make sure they are even lol. When you make a new body mesh from scratch you only build half of it and mirror it. But you can do that with armor etc that has already been created and mapped for the game.

Looks like you have the slider of the body between 0 and 100 for weight. Bring up the showracemenu and put the weight all the way up or all the way down and see if it all snaps into place? If it doesnt then one of your _0 or _1 files need to be checked to make sure they have the same amount of verticies. Also can we get a screenshot of the armor in #ds Max after you copied the skin modifier from my body? That weird color thing is usually because you didnt copy the shader from the original.

Because there is almost nothing to change. But with the other armor the game crashes. I guess I'll find out eventually. Thank you very much. You're the best.

I don't suppose you would be willing to share your mods and other customizations used? Anyhow, if that was easy I can't even begin to imagine what we will be seeing a month or so from now.
barbariank Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I have question, is tesselating a part of the armor mesh can break something up [I tryed to make a better nord plate armor (using the male version) and i had to use some tesselation on certain part but now i have weird things ingame, like when i put boots or gloves random polygons vanished from the armor but when i remove any boots and gloves then everything is back to normal] Found why i wasn't able to use the smooth effect either, or at least not really as it doesn't look as smooth as the originale mesh was :/ So i'd like to know that before doing further modifications, thank you : )

This will cause your UV and everything to mismatch in the game. BAD idea.

A big thanks to you Cherry for this impossible to mess up, super detailed guide. Because without it, I wouldn't have even have had a chance to STILLLLL not get it right... oh man. Anyways... I attempted to convert the Dragonbone Armor from the KillerKeos Skimpy set. I used a super silly CBBE body that I generated from the slider. I used the preset from the slider made to be compatible for BBP if that makes a difference. I followed the guide carefully, and changed the shader properties in nifskope as the guide said, but for some reason every time I try to put on the armor I get a CTD. 3DSMax Pic Nifskope Pic I also tried using your female body meshes Cherry, but I still got a CTD. Also when I select Editable Mesh from the female body mesh it changes the mesh and then goes back to what it was when I select Skin again. With the CHSBHC mesh it only changes slightly, but with CBBE the change is really dramatic. I didnt notice this until the end as I was deleting the skin mesh from the armor file to replace with the skin mesh from the body file. I started to mess with the vertices again to try and refit the armor to the now different body mesh, but then it just kinda fixed itself. If someone could explain exactly what is going on here I would be most gracious. 3DS Mesh Changes 1 3DS Mesh Changes 2 Finally this is the file that I used to export from 3DSMax. 3DSMax File There is clearly something that I am doing wrong, but I have no idea what it is. The reason why my model doesn't save all the data while I try to export it in 3ds max it was that I was using "Export selected" instead just simple "Export". It may be just me but, still... My 3ds Max is 2012.

The NiAlpha you need to delete that in your new file and copy it from the original. (For some reason this gets boinked up on export from max) So copy the original alpha to your new one I think i put it in the faqs section of the first page.

teals03 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Cherry your awesome that totally fixed the CTD. Now I have another problem. The armor doesnt show up at all. The breast size changed, the physics work, I gain in armor rating as I would as if I was wearing it, and the enchantment works fine. So I am indeed wearing the armor, but none of the actual armor is showing up, which is confusing because shouldn't the skin not show up either and just have it all be invisible?
teals03 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 YYYYYYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! I figured it out. Apparently there is yet another step some of us MAYBE might need to preform in order to get sweet, sweet justice. According to me, not having my armor show up at all was a complete injustice to all that is good and righteous. How I fixed my armor not showing up in game: 1. Open your armor in NifSkope. 2. Click on the '# NiTriShape' for the piece that isnt showing up in game. 3. Click on NiTriShapeData. 4. In that window you should find a block called 'Has Vertex Colors'. You want to modify that value from 'no' to 'yes'. 5. Repeat for any other piece that isnt showing up for the armor and you should be able to now see your armor in game. Picture for Reference My Armor in Game with BBP and everything. I also found out that there are numerous small fixes that I need to do that didn't show up in 3DSMax. There is a small seam in the right side of the chest. The nipples show up just a little bit, and although I didnt make any changes to the boots and they aren't even apart of the mesh that I changed, they now also have seem issues in the back. I think I am finally starting to gain some incite in to just how much work gets put into perfecting these things and I was just modifying an already existing mesh. It would have to be a freaking nightmare to create something from scratch.

Your tut give me some new tipps for moddeling in skyrim. I made the nocturnal dress working for the newest CBBE Body but got one problem when I export the dress. The vertex count from the body mesh will be different in NifScope form that was shown in Max (Max=3471 NifScope=3543) I checked all settings they are the same as yours in the tut. Do you have any idea what happend ? I use Max 2010 and NifTools 3.7.2.41462df
