Lifty Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Title says it. I tried to do the quest from earlier saves too, still I CTD everytime I equip the Nightingale Armor. Even just possessing it in my inventory causes the game to crash a few seconds later. I can equip Boots, Gloves and Hood of the set, but not the Armor. I am using a CBBE BodySlide replacer with which I have had no problems so far. I even overwrote the Armor with Chrono Trigger's skimpy version. Still CTD. It must have to do with the Nightingale Armor, like I read on a closed topic. The user resolved the issue by creating an .esp that replaces the armor. Now I don't know how to do that, and I frankly don't want to. I want to fix that problem in a more practical and usual manner so that other users having the same problem don't have to become a modder in order to play normally. Any ideas? (oh and please don't ask about load order, NMM, BOSS or SKSE. I am not new to Skyrim modding. And if you were planning to ask about drivers, 4GB skyrim and papyrus - don't. you know it's actually 99.9% useless to check those things) EDIT: Error resolved - it had in fact something to do with one particular CB++ BodySlide replacer. Chrono Trigger's version worked fine after I rebuilt the nightingale dir. Still, I am not happy with this since I don't like my female char that skimpy. Especially her ass. :/ Oh well, good reason to go craft a better armor.
winny257 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 it is up to the armor, if you use a body TBBP you can not wear armor BBP! this leads to these CTD's.

Sounds like the armor is BBP or TBBP and you are missing the right skeleton... and body.

No. In fact, checking load order is the first thing to do when facing crashes. Maybe I wasn't clear enough when saying I am not new to modding. Also, Papyrus never solved any of my problems so far. I need to be convinced before changing my opinion. Anyways, that note was written because everytime I face some kind of problem and ask for help about it on the forums, some clueless twat always says stupid stuff like "update your drivers, check your version, get script extender, try on low settings" which is almost as stupid as asking if your computer is on. I don't use TBBP/BBP. The physics stuff has too much crash/corruption/bug potential for it's small reward. I also carefully checked the NOBBP/NOTBBP versions in the BodySlider. The crashing has nothing to do with body physics.

I was talking about using BBP Armor with TBBP Body. Ofc you crash when you try to use a TBBP Armor with BBP body.. TBBP has more bones than BBP. Ergo.. you can use BBP armor with TBBP body - but you can't use TBBP armor with BBP body.
