If the Witcher 2's piracy numbers are any indication, the PC community should easily outnumber console owners.

Bethesda has stated that in the US the PC version was outselling all other versions by a margin of 3 to 1 (that was back in November so maybe this has changed). Valve doesn't release sales figures but they did state that it set records for sales. All of this makes me suspicious that PC sales are higher than what we might think, perhaps even close behind the ps3 numbers. All of this points to the fact that releasing a CK is and should be a priority for them. I agree I DO want bugs squashed but they also need to get the CK done as well. With nearly 10million units sold they damn sure have the money to devote the warm bodies to "Get-R-Done!" However, I am not holding my breath, as we are talking about Bethesda...... [/quote'] it would have to be higher because i believe valve did release the modern warfare numbers and it was like 3.5 million so it has to be at least over that to make a record, if my memory isn't faulty. lets face it though, steam makes it easy and since it is basically a steam game anyway i would think the number would be higher than 1.9 could be wrong though.
gregathit Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Demon, to my knowledge valve has never released any sales info but maybe I just missed it. Either way I am guessing PC sales to at least be on par with ps3 sales if not close to xbox sales. Over time PC sales will eclipse both due to the mod community. Once all the dlc/expansions are out (maybe even before), some ps3 and xbox players will start trading in or selling off the games where as PC players rarely if ever do this. Just look at morrowind for an example and how old that damn game is now and PC players are still buying it! Anyway back on topic....looks like we will see the CK at the end of the month or close to it per the latest update. What I wonder now is how robust it will be and if the tie in with steam will be funky.
