Weird <!> red icon issue

Hello,

 

I have a strange issue with my FNV installation. Sometime, the NPC or my PC will be replaced by a <!> icon (red with a " ! " white in the middle). If i close FNV and restart the game, the textures are back to normal. This problem happen once for wall texture but most of the time its related to NPC. 

 

What should I do?

Generally that means the game is running out of available memory to store references. You've reached the limit of how many mods can be in your installation. reduce the number of mods you have and/or merge some of them.

Or if you've got a multi-core CPU, edit the .ini to make sure FNV only uses one. The better your computer is the more trouble the game has running.

In the [General] Section:

iNumHWThreads=X

X being an integer.

You've quite possibly discovered your Mesh/Texture installation limit.
