gvman3670 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Take a good, hard look at all the UNP/B conversions here on LL. There are a TON of them for both UNP/B and 7Base to choose from. I found a few for 7B, but since I don't use UNPB I haven't looked for any. Newmiller has a bikini/stockings/gloves/shoes mod on Nexus that has some fancy collars and there are some others as well. So they don't have to be part of an armor set either.
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Okay, given the problems you've had with this I really would just uninstall "LIFE", and/or pick a different texture set. If they're just not blending, and giving you this much grief, they're just not worth the trouble.
Darklordsithis Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 I uninstalled LiFE per your suggestion fastestdog. Then I fired it up today and weirdly the seams look much better than before. BUT... Since doing the blending I've noticed another issue. The faces of certain female NPCs (not all)seem to be reacting too much to light level changes. Not 100% certain this is because of the blending I did or what, but right after blending I tried the sporty sexy muscle map texture and had a grey face in character creation too and never noticed this before.
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 What the...????????????????????????????  Jeezus... okay - I have no idea what that means, but your game is a real mess. What happens if you start a completely new game (not a modded start enabled by a mod - a Vanilla start, riding the wagon, dragon attack, etc.)? What happens if you go to ...\Skyrim\Data\Textures\actors and *TEMPORARILY* re-name the "character" folder (eg: "ZZZCharacter")? *This will "break" your actors' textures, and force them to use Vanilla until you return the folder to its proper name. If faces are still black/discoloured (which they should not be if you do this step), then you're either looking at a complete re-install of the game (which might not be a bad idea anyway - I've done it over less), or at LEAST a full uninstall of all your skin, makeup, paints, scar, anything to do with character appearance (not just deactivation of a plugin in MO - actually uninstalling the mod, and junking any files left behind from manual messing around). Reinstall skin mods one by one until something breaks and you find the culprit - and then kill it with fire & never ever use it again. If you go the full game reinstall route, junk your entire Skyrim folder manually, and junk ALL of your mods (yes really). When you reinstall, make careful, simple choices in the mods you install. Check a modding guide like "S.T.E.P" for Skyrim (Google) for a proper list of recommendations & various necessaries. That's about the sum-total of feedback I can offer on this problem, sorry! Anything further than this really is beyond my knowledge level. Good Luck!
gvman3670 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 FastestDog, if he's using MO then his game's texture filepath should still be all vanilla as it is. He shouldn't have changed anything in that folder at all. My question would be what did the sweaty sporty map overwrite? The MO pic shows it overwriting something, so what is it?

Good point - I am entirely ignorant when it comes to MO, and had assumed it was a botched install/incompatible textures and more, and that therefore at least a reinstall of skin/appearance mods would be required. If the install can be remedied via MO instead that would likely be better.

Sexy sweat IS overwriting some stuff, not sure how much of a problem that's going to be based on this info. Will be able to test it later w/o sweaty texture if you think this could be the issue. I had just assumed the sweaty texture wouldn't do this.
gvman3670 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Well, MO says SSS is overwriting the Barbarian head .dds files, although I wouldn't expect it to do so in a bad kind of way. But you just never know sometimes. Try uninstalling all the textures (just deactivate them I guess) then go in game and see if the vanilla textures are all working fine. If they do work fine make a save. Then reactivate the Barbarian texture only and check it in game. You didn't manually install any textures into /Skyrim/data/ did you?
Guest Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Thanks. Been trying to download that Navetsea texture blender for a while but it keep saying it's hidden. So I hit a bit of a wall now on the neck seam Strange flicking line of white dots across buttocks(Harder to see in pic but in game those dots are jumping across in a line): Anyone know what this is? I'm not sure about the wrist but the buttocks issue looks like a gap in the mesh to me.

This is what I have when I remove textures and UNPB. I installed UNPB without textures since I was going to use barbarian skin anyway. Yeah I've always installed everything using MO except navetsea blender, enb and SKSE that I can think of. I made a post here: Post #8 in this thread about not being able to revert back to vanilla meshes and textures which I thought was strange since I was lead to believe that MO doesn't alter the Skyrim data file at all and assumed deactivating new texture would revert me to default ones, which wasn't happening. Now back then I didn't get this weird lighting thing where texture goes very dark/light I just got what looked to me like a vanilla body with no underwear and no nipples. But since doing the blending I have noticed these dark textures too. I'm.. just.. baffled... maybe there's some fundamental gap in my basic knowledge of MO or something, although I think I have most of it all worked out. This is just weird. Thanks. Only problem is I have no idea why this might occur or how I would go about fixing it.
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 One possible cause of black faces and/or skins is (apparently) the absence of mipmaps in the texture files. If that's the cause, it's an easy fix using GIMP, and several walk-throughs of the process have been posted here in the past. Once problem I found when I got it is that the problem seems to be able to embed itself in savegames, somehow working its way in through a broken autosave. What happens if you start an entirely new game?
Darklordsithis Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Those pics in my last post are from a new game. I think I must have messed something up during blending because your explanation was directed at someone installing manually when I was doing it with MO. I tried to compensate but maybe I messed up somewhere. Pretty sure this only started happening after the attempted blending anyway. Also, even if I get the mipmaps(That does sound to me like somewhere I may have gone wrong) sorted out I already had a problem with not being able to go back to default meshes and textures anyway. I would like to keep pushing at this and maybe learn something before I jump ship and start all over again but given that these issues seem to run deep and I've spent so much time trying to sort this I have an overwhelming urge to just start over. When I started out I was using MO for the first time, maybe I did something wrong way back then in the early stages. So, I think now I'll just make notes of my mods, install order, load orders, ini files, etc and delete everything then reinstall skyrim and get the meshes and textures installed first then if that goes well keep checking as I add other stuff to make sure nothing is breaking it. Thanks for all the advice guys
striknado Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Im using the barbarian textures too with the citrus body and i have the same issue...i tryed everything...i cant get rid of the seamssome good soul pls help me!!
Mondaiji Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I am still in the process of getting rid of my hand seams but i want to give some general advice. If you use MO i would suggest to add Total Commander 32bit as a Executable in MO to get an easy and fast way to access the Skyrim\Data\.. as the game engine has access to. Now you can copy/paste your textures outside in some temp directory of your choosing and work with that. This way you do not have to check each and every mod to get the top level texture used by skyrim. I suggest to not use TextureBlender from inside MO. Edit Config.xml as to use your temp directory and a seperate export directory to not ever mess up your installed mods.
