gokuzeny Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I'm not sure if this is the right section and also I've been unable to find a solution for this on any site, but I just installed FO3 GOTY and added some mods and now all the water in my game is missing, heres my load order: [X] Fallout3.esm [X] Anchorage.esm [X] ThePitt.esm [X] StreetLights.esm [X] BrokenSteel.esm [X] PointLookout.esm [X] Zeta.esm [X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm [X] Mothership Crew.esm [X] TSC Air Support.esm [X] EVE.esm [X] norepairneededv2.esp [X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Operation Anchorage.esp [X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - The Pitt.esp [X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.esp [X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Point Lookout.esp [X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Mothership Zeta.esp [X] GNR Enhanced.esp [X] bzArmour.esp [X] UndergroundHideout.esp [X] DALCO Fixes for Underground Hideout.esp [X] Hi-Res Weapons & Ammo Textures - The Pitt.esp [X] Hi-Res Weapons & Ammo Textures.esp [X] MPammo.esp [X] VashDeagleV5.esp [X] Amy_Armor.esp [X] Arcade'sNightwear.esp [X] AsharasFormalClothing.esp [X] Black Puppet Armor for Fo3.esp [X] BunnySuit.esp [X] CSwimsuit_and_Harness_recolor.esp [X] DIM TYPE3 conversions.esp [X] Dark_Temptress.esp [X] FalsSexyT3Conversions.esp [X] FetishLingerieSet.esp [X] FetishFishnet.esp [X] FrenchMaid.esp [X] ignis.esp [X] jonasclothesnonrplcr.esp [X] Koukaku_Armor.esp [X] Ladyoutfit1.esp [X] LNC StealthSuit.esp [X] Mantis07Reflex.esp [X] Micro Bikini and more recolors.esp [X] MicroBikini.esp [X] MicroBikini_recolour.esp [X] PEDress.esp [X] SchoolUniforms.esp [X] thongpack.esp [X] XmasOutfits.esp [X] Yoko'sOutfits.esp [X] Start_Energy_Weapon.esp [X] EVE.esp [X] EVE Operation Anchorage.esp [X] MZC Addon-Olympus Armory.esp [X] TSC Air Support.esp [X] Fellout-pipboylight.esp [X] Fellout-Full.esp [X] Fellout-Anchorage.esp [X] Fellout-BrokenSteel.esp [X] Fellout-PointLookout.esp [X] Fellout-Zeta.esp [ ] MZC-Patch-UH-Teleporter.esp [X] SexyMantisArmor.esp [X] MantisArmor.esp [X] MantisCyberGear.esp [X] MantisZeroSuit.esp [X] ArcIndNightwear_NonReplacer.esp [X] Mantis07Reflex - Realism.esp [X] lotusarmorv1.esp [X] K2_PamperedSeductress.esp [X] StockingsPack.esp [X] SKINNY SpaceSuit.esp [X] DC Delight.esp [X] UndergroundHideout_PearPatch.esp [X] Error Fixes V1.5.esp [X] Error Fixes V1.5 - Mothership Zeta Crew.esp [X] Error Fixes V1.5 - Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esp [X] Error Fixes V1.5 - Fellout.esp [ ] waterfix.esp [X] Merged Patch 1.esp any help would be appreciated
gregathit Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Try disabling the waterfix.esp and starting a new game to see if that works. Also what all is in the Merged Patch1.esp?
gokuzeny Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 Try disabling the waterfix.esp and starting a new game to see if that works. Also what all is in the Merged Patch1.esp? well the water fix is off as well as the merge (merge was useless so its a moot point) , the only reason i tried them was to try and fix the water issue but they did absolutely nothing negative or positive so i disabled them. I have a suspicion it may be related to fellout but im not entirely sure, and i also tried a new game and get the same result. Also im not sure i even did the merge right so that may be why it didnt fix anything, as I'm new to the whole merge thing, even with oblivion still, could never figure out wyre bash.
gregathit Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Try disabling all but the official DLC, UOP, Fellout and Error Fixes esm & esp files. In other words disable all the armor & clothes mods and start a new game. The author of Error Corrections is running a load order that would be similar and he was able to make it work. You can see his load order here: http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16490 If you can make that work in a new game then just start adding back your other mods 2 at a time until you find the conflict.
gokuzeny Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 also I forgot to mention that the water is actually there, its textures just seem to be missing. ill give it a try and post the results, thanks.
gregathit Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Ah, well open obmm and toggle off archive invalidation and then then toggle it back on to see if that helps.
gokuzeny Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 Alright so I deactivated everything except the official DLCs and the patches and fixes, and took off archive invalidation and started a new game but the water still doesn't show
gregathit Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 You toggled archive invalidation in FOMM off and then toggled it back on (should have a check mark next to it) right? Well, assuming you did then time to dump more: 1. Disable everything except the official dlc's. Toggle off and then back on archive invalidation at each step just to make sure. 2. Add UOP files (again toggle off then back on for archive invalidation) start new game. If water is there then go to step 3. 3. Add Fixes and again toggle archive invalidation off then back on and start a new game. I am guessing that you will need to reinstall either the UOP or fixes as one of them has had some texture files go astray. You should be able to figure out which one is the guilty party by doing the above. Ain't mods a ton a fun
gokuzeny Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 sorry yes i did toggle it on and off, also is there a way to skip the whole vault 101 stuff, starting a new game each time is a pain. Oh and yes mods are fun fun fun....when they work that is
gokuzeny Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 Ok so I tried what you suggested and the textures are still missing -rages-
gregathit Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 So the textures are still missing with just the official dlc only enabled? If so I suggest you uninstall everything and start over from scratch. It will be easier than trying to hunt down what mod added a rouge mesh that is pointing at a texture you don't have. When you reinstall take things slowly and make a backup of your entire base game with dlc before adding any mods whatsoever so you don't have to do this again. Then add in mods one or two at a time testing them as you go, then making a new backup so you can quickly rollback on anything that doesn't work. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
prideslayer Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 If you installed some mod that put a bunch of textures in, and possibly broke the in-game water texture, simply disabling the ESP/ESM isn't going to fix it -- you need to go into FOMM and deactivate the mod entirely. If you installed any mods/texture packs not through FOMM... time to just delete the whole thing and do a clean install of FO3. Last option after all that: Turn down water detail stuff, update graphics card drivers.
Guest Loogie Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Try disabling Broken Steel. It changes all the water in the game, so that might be causing it.
gokuzeny Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 @gregathit I think it may be that one of the mods had a rogue texture as you say (and you have been helpful with giving me ideas to try and its appreciated). but before i do a reinstall ill try the broken steel first, also my graphics drivers and directx are all up to date and the water is the only issue ive had, everything else works as it should. Also is it possible that a setting in ATI catalyst could affect it?
gokuzeny Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 Ok I tried disabling broken steel and that didn't change anything so i reinstalled the game, made a backup and then proceeded to install each mod one at a time and testing it after each one, i have all of them installed and the water is still there so I'm thinking one of the official dlc's didn't install correctly, thanks for all you guys help and ill post if i encounter it again with this install.
