Rayblue Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The only better way is to get a new laptop. Or that given you're in the mainland there are those hole-in-the-wall shops in your locality that specialize in laptop repairs as well as parts replacements.

Guest carywinton Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Here in the USA there are a few dealers who have that motherboard, but the price was quite high and they were refurbished. Prices ranged from $130-$200. One company out of Maryland looked fairly reputable, but again, very expensive. Let me know if I can help you further.

Thanx , Yea I know , Spending 200$ for a motherboard isnt worth it , If I put in a 250$ I can get a Second hand one that will play Skyrim at least . Probably a bad idea can you please confirm its Y550 LA-4601P MOTHERBOARD with Nvidia Geforce GT 240m non integrated Chipset. Cheers
ZaZ Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 You can just but them from Here Or Here. That seems the way to go , maybe by the month end I will probably order it . Not Keen to purchase so soon , Cause I already paid about 170 usd$ approx to fix the laptop with the current shitty board . ( 170 $ included the Intel board , new hinges , new keyboard and a good overall servicing ) Lets see what happens Cheers
Guest carywinton Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 The only ones I am seeing in the US are Intel based, which seems odd. In my business, if a device costs half or more of it's current value to repair, it is not worth repairing, unless the customer is unable to afford a replacement.
