Question about hdt and hdtm xml file ??

I have seen many of these files wich varies in sizes but was wondering are xml for both of these files identical ??

Or is hdt for female different then hdtm ??

Some of these tutorials make it more difficult to understand the basic concept behind these files since other tutorials or even edits are adding the name directly into head, ear hands or body nifs. But then don't use hdt but the original xml name: hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml

if it is the latter can i also rename the file named hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml to hdtm or do i need a totally different hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml to do this ??

Also before i forget the name is hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml is there also a file named hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultTBBP.xml ??

I currently use TBBP mesh and extended xp32 from groovatron and SOS Slong of Skyrim.

hdtm.xml is for males and should not be identical to hdt

there is no tbbp file, its all supported in the bbp if set up by the author of the xml

I think you just need to look at the .nif files to determine and/or change to whether you want to use hdt or hdtphysicsextensionsdefaultbbp - I'm using some of the xml's provided by the kind members of LL so I ensure they're pointing to hdtphysicsextensionsdefaultbbp

Thanks the part of hdtm i was still missing was getting allot of errors since hdtm has no breast bone like female side of hdt. since both of the file was the same hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml

Now it seem to work correctly. now if onyl i could actually see the effect what is happening here:

http://www.loverslab.com/topic/26891-how-to-enable-hdt-belly-distortions-with-sos/

So far only the female collides correctly but the sos is not very noticeable since the penis could still be too small.

Hi, I hope it's OK to hijack your thread with my noob question.

What I am not really clear about and after reading through countless posts in countless threads the confusion remains:

hdt.xml = hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml  ??

If that is the case, why use a separate xml in conjunction with the original hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml? Is there

a) a benifit (i.e. different values for different situations because hdt.xml is used in some circumstances and hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml in others)?

B) a necessity to get bounce/collision to work at all?

If none of the above is true, is there a reason why not simply the nifs get linked to the default hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml?

Sorry, a lot of question marks but it kind of reflects the state of my confusion.

I understand the difference between hdt.xml and hdtm.xml (different crotch area required different setup)

Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated

[EDIT]

I guess I found a partial answer in http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/866-hdt-breast-physic-and-collision-for-sevenbase-unp-and-cbbe/

hdt.xml = hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml

If someone uses the hdt.xml:
Create a copy of the hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml (from this mod) and rename the copy to in hdt.xml.

Then you will not need any adjustments to body or armor meshes to make.

but I also found one of the reasons I am confused (in the same topic):

The hdt.xml is not necessary and not recommended.

Yet almost everyone is (also) working with hdt.xml and it is them that are referenced in the nifs.

HDTdefBbp = enabled phx  disabled collisions filters,  hdt\m = enabled collisions filters.

hdtm- if male skeleton\ body has bones Br\butt  it will work  with phx and colls.

I long ago attached in sos for females unp archive with sos phx bones for both genders for  fun and test. Check that if want.

ah, thank you very much, romeozero. I guess in theory the HDTDefault xml could have collison enabled as well, which is what clp2011 meant. Only if collision is disabled in the default xml the hdt.xml is required. Finally some light :) much appreciated.
