assigning new slots to armor for mashups

Ok, So I wanted to try a new look but came to the conclusion that a few of the pieces I wanted to wear used the same slots. I did some research and found this topic : http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/576983-tutorial-assign-meshes-to-new-body-parts/ Super awesum I though! :D So I began to fiddle with them. But sadly I must be doing something wrong since 1 piece I equip is invisible and another just won't show up in game at all. So I'll be calling out to a gentle soul who is willing to help me out with this :D

This is the look (A few people have been asking for this one so it wouldn't only help me but others as well :D)

Ok 1st problem :

Goggles from Osare Culort outfit | http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/43609/?
Beret from Cute Knight | http://www.mediafire.com/download/y833s1vnz4wh0fj/LOLILABS-v1.1.7Full.7z

(this was the piece that turned invisible, I tried to change it to misc slot 60 but thats when it turned invisible)

And second problem :

Elite Rogue Hitpants | http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30189/?

(I wanted to change this to slot 56 so I could wear a shirt under it but it doesn't show up in game anymore)

After that I just gave up as nothing seemed to go right -_- So still need to see what slot the Harvest Feathers (http://www.loverslab.com/topic/10943-zzshop/) are using. and of course making sure that the skirt can still be equipped without losing the plate xD

Soooooo, if anybody would be so kind as to help me out here? pretty please *puppyeyes*

It's not enough to assign a new slot in the .ESP, you also need to assign it in NifScope for the meshes.

It's under BSDismemberSkinInstance\Partitions\Partitions\Body Part.

EDIT: This might explain it better.

That's what I did though I tried to follow every step in the tutorial but still I'm messing up somewhere and I don't know where I went wrong

Got some of the meshes from a .BSA archive? I've noticed that some outdated BSA tools can sometimes break meshes when unpacking them (they seem to work when viewed in NifScope, but fail to load in the game).

Aah I may have found the problem. was looking in my files and saw that I still had the old lolilabs esp in my folder so thats why It was invisible. now replaced it with the new esp and also that file isn't showing up in game anymore... wich wld probably suggest I'm doing something wrong in the CK

So I guess I will need more details. What I did was change the slot in Armor and Armoraddon.. pressed the disk button to save into a new esp. and replaced that with the old esp.

Possible causes:

Are you using bodyslide? You should set ALL the files (the _0 and the _1 nifs) with the new body armor parts slot.

The Nifs preview look OK in the CK ArmorAddon window, right? You have created the Armor and the Armor Add-on (AA) and relate this one with the former correctly, right?

Also, make sure you have assigned the new body parts to ALL the meshes, both in CK and in each NiThiShape like Coopervane and the tutorial explain above.

Edit: make sure to check the race you are playing can use the armor.

The hat and goggles are working great together. But now a new problem has arrived :D when I equip the plate my skin seems to be going all wonky -__-

Looks like a texture path missing/incorrect; the armor Nif has the body embedded in the file? If so, check the texture path in the body mesh to Skyrim/Data/textures/actors/character/female/femalebody_1.dds and so on for each body texture (_msn, _s, _sk).

Creepy.

Expand the BSLightningShaderProperty, then click on the BSShaderTextureSet; go to the Block Details window, expand the textures and click on the little flower; a search file window should popup, find the texture path and assign the correctly.
