FinalCloud Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 So, quick question, which version of 3ds max would you recommend I get for Skyrim modding? 2011/2012/2013 or 2014?
blabba Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 2012 is probably recommended  Though I'm using the 2014 toolkits and I've only found 1 limitation for me so far. 2014 requires a few tweaks to get setup if your planning on doing Havok physics stuff. I have yet to venture into animation, so cannot offer advice their. I've also only found 1 downside to using 2014 so far, and that's that you cannot import bones into Max bones with it.
FinalCloud Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Ok well, thanks sir, I got keys for both anyhow =/. So I guess il go with 2012
Yoo Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Just an advice, if you are going to use Max 2012, go to Autodesk page and install all the updates. Modifiers like Skin are a bit buggy on retail version.
Deedlit Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 stick with 2012, because alot tutorials and people use that, so you will get less pain to find things at interface same if nifskope support 2014
