Which version of that did you try? 1, 2, or 3? and did you install the apachii hair mods? Then run boss to be sure they was in the correct order?

Just making sure.

Also why didn't you post this in the nexus forum thread of that mod to seek help with it?

Actually been looking for some myself. Right now the only one I am using is the one for the Companions in Whiterun. Which requires the same hair mods for it too. Thinking of giving this one a try now that you brought it to my attention.

I read about it a bit and the suggestion is if you are using it and your computer is not very good to use version 3, same if you get a CTD but have the hair mods installed. Since with all the HD hair on version 1 and 2 can cause CTD's it seems. So i would suggest trying version 3 and see if you still get a CTD.

Yeah speaking of the good old hair tearing out CTD I'm getting that from just resting, fast travel, and travel. I disabled auto save to see if that could be causing it, since it does CTD on some quests (Thieves Guild and Dawnstar nightmares). Going to check out this 'boss' and see if it'll help. Going to just guess NPC Overhaul I linked up top is the main conflict....but it didn't begin to happen until I used console commands. Spammed arrows and armour to get smithing up and light armour in Riften. Reckon it could be causing the problem? Not sure, but I'm ticked. If it's not figured out I'll be restarting with a fresh install for the 20th time. Ugh! Mods, got to love them yet hate them at the same time.

Yeah mods make the game a lot more fun but come at the price of long term stability. I mean just look at Gopher, he is considered a good modder and even he has run into problems where he killed his game with to many mods and constantly got CTD's with his Stiv lets play. So that is the price of modding the game it can happen.

As for the console commands causing it I really don't know. I honestly don't know what effects they can have on a game long term.

BOSS could help if your load order is out of whack. It certainly won't hurt to use BOSS, i personally run BOSS after every mod I install and then double check to make sure it is loaded in the right order.

I would still recommend trying version 3 of that mod and uninstalling the hair mods. Having all the NPC's with HD hair would put a big strain on your PC and if you like most of us are already using a lot of mods that could just be the tipping point.
