RieFairy Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I apologize if this is the wrong place for this topic. Feel free to move it if that is the case. I use a majority of the hair mods on this site, but there are a few Sims 3 hairs I would love to have in-game. I have been following Endiness' tutorial on importing, but I hit a snag once I get to importing it to Max or Blender, since it doesn't go into detail on what I'm supposed to change or do, etc. This is my first attempt at trying to import something into Skyrim, for years I've just used what modders have been kind enough to create or import. So I suppose I'm either asking for additional instruction on what to do once I get to importing the hair to Blender or 3D Max, or for someone to import the hairs I'd like for me. Ideally, I'd like to learn how to do it myself so I can do this on my own, so if someone would be kind enough to explain it to me, I'd be grateful. Otherwise, here are links to the hairs I'd like imported. Nightcrawler_AF_Hair15 Butterfly Sims Hairstyle 120 Skysims #07 Retexture There are more than this, but I don't want to overload someone. Again, I'd really appreciate if someone could explain the Max/Blender process. I can work with either, since they are both new to me.
myuhinny Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 The tutorials from Gopher might help you out many use these to learn the how to parts and there are a lot of tutorials to look through. http://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids?feature=watch
RieFairy Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Thanks for the reply, but I'm still pretty lost. The above videos did familiarize me with 3D Max a little more, but didn't really give me the answers I was looking for (unless I was a complete flake and completely missed it in one of the videos, which is entirely possible.) I've followed Endiness' tutorial, like I said, till I get to the 3D Max step. I can get the Object file of the hair into Max, place it on the head. But mine looks different from the picture used in Endiness' tutorial. I'm guessing it's because I don't have the textures on the hair, but no tutorials I've found explain how to get the dds/textures to show up on the mesh. So that's my next big question other than what steps I have to take to get past the 3D Max part. I did find a bit of a deeper explenation on what to do from Tharath's post in another topic. But mine still does not look like this screenshots, since, as you can see from my picture attached below, it has no dds/texture. Anyone have ideas?
