Guest Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 First off, this isn't a complaint, not even a request (well, it might be ), this is me simply asking you guys how hard it would be to create a "badend" mod for Oblivion. This idea has come up countless times in countless forms, from bandits to daedra to more. The idea that the PC can be subject to sexual enslavement to a group of hostile actors by beating the PC in combat, or forcing the player to through dialogue (or negotiation). Hell, it's probably the most requested idea here, what I'd like to know is, is it hard to make? Â Look, I'm no modder (not yet at least), but this idea sounds kind of simple. Guards can force the PC into a new cell through dialogue, there are ways to teleport through fast travel, putting on amulets and jewelry, and some mods have actors or the PC teleport when they die (kvatch battle has enemies respawn when they die and LandE teleports the player when they die. Also, Lovers Bitch and the Oblivion quest is a perfect example). From there, TrueCrime stuff can take over as you are in a custom dungeon/cave/fort/ruin (doesn't have to be a ruin that's in the vanilla game). You will be enslaved for a certain amount of time, and then you teleport back to a certain area (preferably the same place where you died/lost). Â People have mentioned that there should be a way to escape, or that you can be kidnapped in sleep or from backstabs, but if we disregard the more complex ideas, is the base "easy" to make (for a modder?). Â Feedback and answers would be appreciated. Â Thanks.
Xegonite Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 This is common idea, indeed. Actually there is a feature in Lovers Bitch mod, that allows you to be captured and raped by daedra in oblivion plane. Kinda buggy, but if you have a decent amount of optimizing plugins, should work. Â
Guest Donkey Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Looking At LandE who also has an unending bad end, there is a start for any modder to work from. Also Shivering Isles don't have prison but you could make use of what is already there. and create new land Mass etc.. But it will require some work either way.
Guest Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 @Xegonite, I know, and it was a damn good quest. Â @Donkey, So could this entire thing be built upon entirely by already existing content (cells, meshes, textures, animations, scripts etc)?
Guest Donkey Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well yes, that is also the base principle how loverTrueCrime was built, they did not create a full prison from scratch but added to vanilla prison instead. As i said it is possible but will still take good amount of time to fully work this out properly.
DogOnPorch Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 There's always this mod...  Carcernus Prison  Adds a vitual prison with spells to go there...send people there...etc. I have it running in my install...HUGE. Comes with prison staff & guards...plus a few old prisoners.
Guest Donkey Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 yes but you can't just take that mod you still need permission. But it a very good start if haloreachman will be working on it, since most are already in place.
ZaZ Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Crime and Punishment Overhaul COBL HOW IT WORKS   Sentencing: When a guard sends you to jail, there will be a stool in the cell. If you use it, it will activate whatever sentence is determined by a combination of your bounty amount and random chance.  Insurance: In the waterfront district there will be a new shack, where you can buy insurance tokens and deposit them in "my insurance chest". I recommend keeping at least a quarter of your bounty's worth stashed there, and the chances of them helping you get higher the more you deposit. there will ALWAYS be at least a small chance they will decide to take the money and leave you to fend for yourself, however.  Bounty Hunters: Bounty hunters are similar to regular guards but they will chase the player all over the map, once their bounty is high enough. I haven't tested these extensively so if they get too annoying bring up the console with the ~ key, click on them, then type Disable and they will go away.  Prison: You can get out in one of two ways: Find the patrolling guard in the quarry yard, get his key, and run to the escape boat, or work your way out. To work your way out you have to mine gold nuggets (or get them in a more dastardly way...) and turn them into the chest in the gatehouse. You'll need enough to pay off the bounty you got sent in on.  Execution: This can ONLY be escaped with the help of the insurance company thugs. If you have enough money deposited they will rescue you at the last second. Sometimes your animation will not reset properly when you are rescued.   http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33771   Pretty Glitchy But The gards dont Kill U , U get Sent to Jail W8 for Ur Sentence Etc another example  Cheers
Guest Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Interesting... I'd love to try and make this, but that'll have to wait for a bit (need new computer, oblivion runs like shit. will be obtaining one soon). In the meanwhile I might try learning more about modding as preparation...
slash69 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 This sounds like a really interesting idea! But like you said, I think it would be best to keep this modular. Maybe have a base mod, then various bad end mods that players can choose from. This would allow people to not use the more extreme endings if they don't want to. Plus it would also make it easier for others to make their own bad endings. Keeping an eye on this one!
mundaneunspeakable Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Cursed Armor has several for the final quest.
Uriel Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 TamagoBadEnd, game ends if your character gives birth. Simple LandE-style badend.
