Nonsense667 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 A couple of months ago, when finally taking a look over here in the Fallout section, I decided to actually get New Vegas. I downloaded the Sexout mods I was interested in, and did one playthrough of the main quest. I loved what I saw in the sexout mods, yet I realized they still have a ways to go. So after starting up a second character, I realized that I didn't want to make myself tired of NV before the Sexout mods really took off. So I stopped playing. I still check for updates here on the forum, but it has been a few months since I've played the game. But I must admit, there have been some huge advances in that time, and they are tempting me to start up again. But I'm not sure, like I said, I don't want to burn myself out too early. Is anyone else out there waiting for the mods to advance a little further before they start playing?
Guest Loogie Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 As a modder, not sure where I fall into this spectrum. I'm making content with the idea that it should be an integrated part of the game. Â That said, I'm playtesting with my current character I'm 90 hours in on, but am waiting until some things get finished up with Workgirl before I do another playthrough from scratch. Â Of course, if the problem is work's not being done fast enough for your liking, you could learn to mod.
Nonsense667 Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Damn it! I knew there was a poll option I forgot. There should always be an "other" choice at the bottom. Curses.
Guest Loogie Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 At this point, I need to get the Boomer plugin working for Tryout, and see about getting a Powder Ganger slavery quest done, and get Legion slavery more serious. Past that, it's just tidying up and I'd consider the Tryout project more or less done from my perspective. For people who come after me to do major work on it, it's modular design would make it a great base for the idea of a universal slavery mod that people have been bandying around. Â When it comes to Workgirl, I've considered myself more of a custodian than an active modder. I seek out help when I need it, and I constantly need it, because the concept Orangey built for story-integrated depravity was too good to die.
Nonsense667 Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Of course' date=' if the problem is work's not being done fast enough for your liking, you could learn to mod. [/quote'] Hah, missed that part of your post. Although I can understand your trepidation that that might be my outlook, words can not describe how much that is not the case. I myself am working on a project (not related to NV) that is going slow as molasses, compared to me you guys are lightning fast. These things take a shit-ton of time, and I completely understand that. Â
Guest Loogie Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I did a lot of modding for various games in my teen years. Didn't touch anything since Fallout Tactics before taking up the dialog in the wsex version of WorkgirlTryout last March. I was unemployed when I started that and got a job soon after. Â This project has convinced that, as a time investment, modding is best done by teenagers and college students because they have all the time in the world. Of course, mods like we're dealing with can't be made by kids.
mosmos Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 waiting big (.)(.) armor/clothes and all dlc for new vegas. can`t do my self 0% modding skill just have to wait and hope  my spelling in English is bad
Sand_Dragon Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I've been waiting, though I've also been dicking around in NV the regular way. The game is just plain fun even without mods, which is more than I can say for Oblivion. :I
Kashked Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I've been playing around quite a bit with the game in the meanwhile, but I have to admit, having "final version" stamped on it someday would give me peace of mind.
Nonsense667 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 I'm not so much waiting for a final version, as I am a good, solid base. Maybe once sexoutNG gets most of its stuff ironed out. (Or I might just go ahead and start now)
Guest Loogie Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 SexoutNG is ironed out, all it's missing is STDs really.
