The femalebody_0 that's in the same folder as the tga files (wasn't sure if you'd need them, so threw them in just incase) and the blender save files is the one that has been edited in nifskope, the one in meshes is the original unedited femalebody. Also in regards to the textures for darkstring, ds_0 is the textures for the straps (the black parts) and ds_1 is the textures for the metal bits (the rings and zipper) Had to figure that out myself with trial and error Oh and the dsedit blender file is with only form fitting done, the dsedit_boneweightcopy blender file is ... well as the name says, did all the steps up intill boneweight copying, nothing beyond that.

Zquad1 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Well I took a look at it & I am not sure why you were getting the NiTriSrings I have never seen that before, I whent a head & exported it from my Blender & everything looked good perhaps your export settings got messed up here Match them up with mine---> Now the DS_1.Nif belong with your conversion or is that part of the original?
Nalessa Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 the ds_1.nif should be fine and it's the original yes, never touched that, it is a unp armor, but both ds_1 and ds_0 had the same weight! (You can check it yourself if you want in belisario's files, when loading the nifs, both are the same) So if you are running around with a minimun weight body (like I am) your body gets changed to the maximum making all the rest of the items I'm wearing clip, my intention was to change the ds_0 into a proper minimum weight armor and body so that my body will no longer change! I'll take a look at export setting, but I also have no idea why it's derping for me Which one did you use btw, the one with only form fitting done, or the one where I also did all the bone copying? Oh, so I have to do all the stuff for the _1 stuff too? but since it's working and all anyway I guess I just have to skip form fitting and just do all the steps after that?

I am not sure why the Body would change back to the _1 on it's own if you were at _0 weight in game, it shouldn't do that. I did the dsedit_boneweight_copy.blend & everything exported just fine. Sweet Thats awesome it Exported for ya this time around, I do know sometimes Blender will do some odd things sometimes just re-exporting can put things back on track. When I say both files must be the same size I mean the armor_0.nif & armor_1.nif, When your converting armors IF you want a working Weight slider in game you MUST convert the _1.nif as well.

Oh, so I have to do all the stuff for the _1 stuff too? but since it's working and all anyway I guess I just have to skip form fitting and just do all the steps after that? try going into your racemenu & adjust the weight slider & see if it is a little out of adjustment But if you still see a mess. take a screen shot & post it up & i'll see what's going on. But from what you are describing it sounds like the weight slider is not working therefor when your body is not all the way at 0% or at 100% on the weight slider & if not you will get pixel stretching. & it will look funky. well yes & no if you are wanting to make the _1.nif then start after you have successfully created the _0.nif then Save the .Blend file in Blender & Name it something like DS_0FINAL.blend "FINAL" will mean you are completely done converting the _0.nif just to not get confused when you start the _1.nif if you want to stop for awhile. now that your done converting the _0.nif start up the DS_0FINAL.Blend & delete the Bones & the Body & re-import the Femalebody_1.nif, & go from there.
Nalessa Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 That's the really weird part, on my nord it looks like a giant mess But on my breton it just swapped the textures for some reason (seems the strap texture is used on the body, the metal textures used for the straps and the body textures are used for the metal rings ) but I'm 100% sure I used the right textures for the right parts, somehow it still swapped them I don't know why, but it won't upload my screens, keeps saying upload skipped (no file was selected for upload) for some reason Seems my nord was one above minimum weight but yeah, at minimun weight she also looks same as my breton, but once you start going up textures just fly all over the place, but when you hit max weight, it shows the max weight dark string fine (as this was unchanged) The odd thing is I did a 3d render on it in blender about halfway through, and it seemed to show just fine! (got ss to work, guess server just derped or something for a minute)

Not sure why your getting 2 different results from the Vanilla races but it sounds like you might of assigned the UVmap textures wrong. get Fraps It's WAY better then Steams screen capture.

LOL!! Not a big deal though because I'll find out soon enough when I get it into game. but it would be nice to have it functional though.

Or did you simply take my blend file that had bone copying done, finished the skeleton and the nif stuff and nothing else? And does changing weight in between work fine aswell? Did you change the ds_1 aswell or just used the original one? (sorry for all the questions, trying to get to the bottom of this!) I really can't understand why it works for you perfectly, and not for me ...
Zquad1 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Yes I used the BoneweightCopy.Blend & completed adding the Skeleton from the Femalebody_0.nif & I copied the BSLightingShaderProperties from the DS_1.nf & pasted them into their proper corresponding locations in the DS_0.nif. No I didn't convert the DS_1.nif so no the weight slider Pixalizes between Weights, I am only using your DS_1.nif & the converted DS_0.nif then I went into the Creation Kit & created the Armor add on, then created the armor then saved it & gave it an .ESP I named it "Dark String.esp" & everything works as it should. No problem with the questions, I love to help, I too was once where you are at now & I bugged thee Hell out of one of these Modders & now we are really good friends. so I will stick with ya till we figure this out. this is a learning curve for both of us. it's all part a the fun of Modding.
