Sweatington Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Ok, basically after I started modding Skyrim, I almost stopped playing I'm constantly trying to figure out new combinations and what work together and not. So what I'm looking for is tips and recommendations on mods that you consider to be very stable and well made, that enhance's skyrim gameplay in whatever way possible. Been doing various quests and half of maids2: deception. at level 15 atm. I did make a little error in the install order as in AFT is freshly installed after I removed UFO with clean save. Not sure how it will affect stability yet.
Rayblue Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Any mod that uses scripts are to be used carefully, as some of them could run into trouble with other mods, or others are very script-heavy; multiply that with several NPCs covered and your game could be walking on a razor blade. And, oh, Warzones is pretty much unstable unless you're now using a variant of Sheson's memory patch.

Yeah I heard about the grusome unstability of the warzones But Atm I'm using saftey load, skyrim startup memory editor, EWI's high skyrimprefs and freemem. Seem to do the job rather nicely. Prob forgot to add that I'm using full effect Truevision ENB on top of this (Y) Gonna check if I can add some Realistic Lightning overhaul and Climates of Tamriel. (Really missing that last one)

This thing is coming allong damn nicely! I'm simply amazed at the possibilietes of transformation in this game.. Now I just need to adjust the interoir lightning in enbseries a little. It was a little to dark with realistic lightning overhaul for my taste. This is by far the most immersive and cool setup I have managed to put together, all thanks to the helpfull guru's on this forum! you guys are awesome!
Guest Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 If you're already well into ENBs, maybe consider giving some of the interior plugins from JawZ ENhanced Lighting for ENB a try out. It's still in test phase so you might not be keen to potentially upset the balance you've got now, although for me it's fixed some stability issues I was getting from other mods that cover the same territory . I've been using the entire suite for a few days now and I'm already 99.9% convinced I won't be using any other lighting or weather mods any time soon. My interiors are finally exactly how I want them with ELE - dark and gloomy enough for you to need a torch at least some of the time, but with extremely nice light source treatment that makes logical sense. Can't recommend it enough.

For the time being I'm sticking with the results I got from the manual tweaking I turned out quite ok! Will be keeping an eye on this one though!
Sweatington Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 So after installing RLO+CoT. I'm having serious issues with pitch dark nights & dungeons ;s. It seems to be really random at times at well, sometimes I manage to get really good looking nights. Can post some screens to show what I mean.

hryh23k9823u Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Dunno, they say it causes bloating. I would check my saves size from time to time if I were you. Also, in that matter, I think Civil War Overhaul is a pretty good mod, I've heard is the best so maybe you want to check it out too.

It doesnt have to hapen, maybe the mod has been updated recently enough to ensure more stability. I just say that it doesnt hurt to check from time to time...

This is the SHIT! if you want beautifull looking outdoors. I use it with SFO+GOS and Bigger Trees. My Tamriel is looking like quite the jungel now

circ Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 If you play vampires at all try Better Vampires. Lots of scripts but unlike some mods they're not constantly in use. Haven't personally had any problems with it - or atleast game breaking stuff like CTDs traceable to it.

But I would like to point out that when I clicked the link to Nexus Microsoft Security Essentials threw up a message asking me if I wanted to have the site analyzed as it may be malicious! It happened once a while back, too. And this isn't the only time I've heard of Nexus being flagged by some security software or another.

You really shouldn't use Microsoft Secuirty Essentials ;s it's outdated. MS said so themselves. My current game is "stablish..." not really what I want but least it's no CTD.

gvman3670 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Didn't mean to hijack. Sorry. I've found a few mods I like to use to change the appearance and clothing of the female NPCs in game. I can change them ALL (besides aggro unnamed ones anyway) with just five mods.
