Anyone here have any experience getting rid of a malware called PureMiner?

I figured out that my computer recently got infected by it, oddly enough, not long after using one of those DLSS5 auto installers. I'm not sure if that was where it actually came from, like maybe another party managed to sneak it into the download file on GitHub, but at the very least, I just wanted to add that detail, just in case.

This is without a doubt one of the worst pieces of malware I have tried to deal with.

EDIT: Typo in the title

Has it got into your Windows system files?

You could do an online search for the malware name, and something may come of that.

What I have had to do in the past is a complete nuke of the C drive. Including a reformat in the bios menu/windows install. It's been a few years, so honestly cannot remember where I did the full reformat.

You can also try doing a full system refresh (windows update function - I think) and do NOT keep your files. That will 100% reset Windows to factory fresh and you will have to completely reinstall all your apps and games. It's not for the fainthearted.

Which game were you dlss5ing? I have only done it on Skyrim so far with this one - Theo's Render Pipeline - DLSS - FrameGen at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community and Theo's Render Pipeline - DLSS - Frame Gen - Neural Rendering at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community Both are needed with ENB installed first. I note you can use Community Shaders instead of ENB

Skyrim and the Sims 4. I do have an older copy of my computer from before I downloaded and installed the DLSS5 installer, so maybe the nuclear option wouldn't be so bad?...

It's so ridiculous to me that these things can be so bad that they require you to basically build a new computer, but you can then easily be reinfected just by downloading the wrong file, or opening the wrong webpage, or heck, these assholes have apparently even figured out how to infect your computer through YouTube adds (yes, if you watch YouTube, you should definitely have an add blocker installed, that's what that means).

As far as whether or not the virus has infected my Windows files, I would assume so. I mean I managed to track down and remove a number of the files the virus was using to maintain "persistence", but apparently I missed some of them, because it didn't take long for more scans to reveal all of the same bullshit that I had just removed (the day before yesterday). This virus in particular seems to have an A.I. component to it, as I have seen that pop up a number of times in my scans with Malwarebytes, so it's not just some dumb virus, it has some degree of intelligence, apparently.

Sometimes I wish the Thanos snap was a real thing, because there are a number of things and people I could think to use it on, at the moment.

I just got home from work, but I'm expecting to see more disappointment when it comes to cleansing my computer of this hacker filth.
