misaligned nipple piercings - but only when naked

hi all,

 

so i have a few piercing mods, and the nipple piercings are aligned when a 32 slot piece is equipped, but not aligned when the NPC is naked i.e. has no 32 slot equipped.

instead, they hang/float a bit in front of the body.

as soon as i equip a 32 slot, they get aligned.

note: this also applies to 32 slots where the breasts are bare.

 

i do have orefit, but i did configure so that the outfits with bare breasts dont have orefit. the nipple piercings are still properly aligned.

 

it's really only when a body slot 32 is NOT equipped, that they float.

• obody 3ba (zeroed sliders)

I have all of those, and they all work just fine for me with no floating activity. But then, I do not use ORefit at all.
All outfits and jewelry are built to 3BA Zeroed sliders with Build Morphs checked.

First thing to check is that the nips are at the same exact position in your RACE's naked skin armor and the slot 32 armor pieces you're testing with. BodySlide morphs do not move bones/nodes. I do not know what role ORefit plays in this and would recommend you test without it or in some other way check that it is not configured wrong or misbehaving.

thanks I just did a bit more testing. The issue seems to be only happening on a custom race. Normal races are fine, nipples are properly aligned with piercings and Obody doesn't interfere - in fact there seems to be a quick refresh to realign everything nicely when it's equipped.

Easiest way? Don't build the naked body with a different preset than you build the clothed ones.

 

Q: But I want pushup effects.

A: Handle pushup and sag in your physics system.

 

Edit: Another thing to consider is that there's plenty of outfits with mislabeled body compatibility. For instance, I've seen plenty of outfits that claim 3BAv2 when they're actually 3BA, 3BBB or even in some rare cases CBBE SMP. I don't know if these body variants actually have the nipples in different locations by default so maybe that was a bad example, but my point is, even if body and outfit both say 3BAv2 you should open them in NifSkope (or Blender) and BodySlide and make sure things like the crotch area looks identical and that they both have the exact same sliders in BS.

thanks. how do you build the naked body?

so far I've only ever run BS on outfits.

Your body mod comes with a BS project: CBBE, 3BA, BHUNP, ...
