4.4.x Lustful Void Unofficial Patch

as this is an unofficial patch, use at your own risk! (make a backup first or something!)
Currently for Lustful Void version 0.8.0.1
I also have some patches / bandaid fixes for:
Mango's Lewd Diplomacy
Califire's Citizen's Sex Rights

check those out if you are using those mods and have issues

What is this?
A combination of various fixes and patches to LV 0.8.0.1 to hopefully fix some broken aspects of it

Issues addressed include:
- No nurture drone / nurturer jobs filled even though there is excess pop
- Breeding empires no access to Ravage bombardment stance 
- Breeding empires no access to Breeding offensive CB
- Changed default Nurture Drone weight to grab from simple_drone instead of maintenance_drone (this prevents organic gestalt pops with negative "Sex Job" efficiency from flipping between Nurture Drone and Maintenance Drone)

FAQ

"I can see and use Ravage bombardment stance and Breeding offensive BUT it doesn't abduct pops"
- You need Apocalypse DLC for it to work since the code for Ravage and Breeding Offensive uses Apocalypse DLC "Raiding" bombardment stance

Installation Instruction
1. download and extract zip file
2. drag the "Lustful Void" folder in the extracted file to the "Lustful Void" folder in your \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod\Lustful Void
3. click replace (if there is no replace prompt then you might have goofed up)
4. is patched, yay!

Appreciate the patch but it is a bit much to blanketly declare it unfinished and untested.

 

The dev is basically rebuilding the mod and as they finished it a major update dropped. It is more than understandable that stuff might have slipped through. 

 

Again, appreciate the patch, but maybe just say it is a patch instead of taking a swing at the dev.

That is true. I didn't mean to offend when I said "unfinished and untested". My statement includes the fact that LV itself does say that it is still in development and unfinished, with the fact that the current version broke what I consider essential core aspects of LV which includes breeding empires and nurturing jobs.

Fair enough, I wasn't trying to imply you were being purposely mean. My guess is that dev probably just missed it in all the repairs and rebuilding. I was just noting that the description might turn some people off, since you are right it is a part of the game that should be working.

Can you be more specific on that? Is it in a machine or organic hive mind empire? By "care drones" do you mean Nurture Drones?

nomad tentacle hive and the care job fluxuates from 0 to full, switch between civilian and simple drone jobs every tick.

What civics and traits do you have? I suspect it is because for some reason, this version of LV has Nurture Drone jobs coded to have the same weight as Maintenance Drone jobs (it literally just grabs the weight of maintenance drones) in the code in common\pop_jobs\lv_support_simple_drone_jobs

as seen here:

the weight of Nurture Drones is however affected by any "sex job efficiency" that you have, so my guess is that you have somehow found the perfect combination to where it is exactly equal, or in a way that overwrites the incumbent weight (Stellaris pops get slightly more weight towards the job that they are current working to prevent this exact scenario of them switching jobs constantly)

What about the traits of your species? Both positive and negative, those are more important since their traits affect whether they decide to take the job as a maintenance drone or a nurturer drone. Besides that, this is also a very niche edge case as Stellaris usually gives pops more preference to staying on their job that they already have.

For the escorts being broken, what are the conditions to recreate that? Is it only on that empire or is it the entire save?
Edit: personally, escorts work for me, but I don't exactly use them during gameplay so... Anyways, I have taken a look at the code and did not find any glaring mistakes, so my guess would be that it might be a different mod that conflicts with your thing or that your LV version might not be up to date, considering it is rare for an entire icon to disappear.

Ok yeah, just as I had suspected.

Your pops have negative "Sex Efficiency" which basically means they get negative weight against sex jobs like Nurture Drones. For some reason, this version of LV has Nurture Drones coded to be the same base weight as Maintenance Drones, but Nurture Drones are placed in the "Menial Drones" tab.

So your pops see there are free Menial Drones job and become Nurture Drones, but when they become Nurture Drones they find that Maintenance Drones has more weight, so they become Maintenance Drones. But now there are free Menial Drone jobs, so they become Nurture Drones... and on and on and on.

This should be a simple fix, I suppose, although I'm not sure if the original author actually wanted Nurture Drones to have the same weight as other Menial Drones (like Technician, Farmer, Miner)
