Grey Cloud Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) For some reason in my current game one or another of my followers will loose their weapon. Usually the first I know about it is when I notice a follower going in with fists. I also had one follower go from an enchanted ebony greatsword to a steel dagger she got from somewhere. Another time in a dwemer ruin I noticed a follower with no weapon and a few minutes later in an area we hadn't been in her sword is lying on the ground. I'm assuming it's disarm as I can't think of anything else. The only info about disarm I can find is about the shout. I've never had this problem before in 10 years of playing Skyrim. I don't use any 'combat' mods. Any ideas? Edited 14 hours ago by Grey Cloud
Dorabella Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago AI Support No disarm on player and followers Spoiler How to permanently fix it on PC (Without combat mods) Solution 1: Recover the weapon with the Command Console If the ebony sword has disappeared under the floor, don't worry about searching for it. Open the console with the tilde key (~ or ** ) and type: tmm 1 (optional, if you want to activate the free camera to look under the floor and manually retrieve it). Or, respawn it directly in the follower's inventory. Click on the follower with the console open and type: additem 000139B1 1 (Example for a standard ebony two-handed sword). Solution 2: Protect followers by raising them to Level 30+. You can force level your follower to make them instantly immune to Draugr disarms. Open the console, click on your follower, and type: setlevel 1000 0 30 100 (This will set their minimum level to 30, blocking the effectiveness of the enemy shout on them). Solution 3: An "invisible" (non-combat) mod. If you want to fix the root of the issue without any gameplay changes, there's a very lightweight patch that only fixes this specific bug: No disarm on player and followers on Nexus Mods. It doesn't affect damage, AI, or combat; it simply tells the game not to drop weapons for you and your companions when Draugr shout.

Thanks but it happens in places with no draugr and nobody doing shouts, e.g. dwemer ruins. Solution 1. No use if I don't know the ID of the weapon. These are weapons I've enchanted and not vanilla weapons. Solution 2. We are currently level 54 and its still happening. In fact it didn't start happening until well into the game, at least level 30.
Dorabella Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Something similar happened years ago when the follower refused to wear the enchanted armor AI support : It looks like AI follower combat bug.Suggestions received , or conflit mod . If it only happens in certain areas, think about specific enemies or an area mod. If it happens with only one follower, it could be a problem with their equipment or AI. If it happens even without Draugr or enemy shouts, then it might not actually be Disarm, but another system that removes the weapon. 1) Try a modless follower. If a vanilla follower doesn't have the problem, the cause is most likely a mod. ( maybe the problem is related to the commands you gave him ) 2) Try a non-enchanted vanilla weapon. If the bug goes away, then the problem is with your custom weapons or enchantments. 3) Check to see if it happens consistently in the same place. If so, it could be an environmental script or an enemy/zone mod. 39 minutes ago, Grey Cloud said: These are weapons I've enchanted Does it have double enchantment by any chance? If so, try to remake his weapon with just one enchantment .

I'm not always sure where it happened but I have thought about specific enemy types and mods. 33 minutes ago, Dorabella said: If it happens with only one follower, it could be a problem with their equipment or AI. No it is different followers and different weapon types. 34 minutes ago, Dorabella said: If it happens even without Draugr or enemy shouts, then it might not actually be Disarm, but another system that removes the weapon. Thought about that and the only thing I can think of is some sort of 'on hit' type effect but I don't know of any. 36 minutes ago, Dorabella said: 1) Try a modless follower. The problem is something removing the follower's weapon, not the follower discarding the weapon. What commands do I give a follower? 39 minutes ago, Dorabella said: 2) Try a non-enchanted vanilla weapon. If the bug goes away, then the problem is with your custom weapons or enchantments. Not really practical. How long would I have to run around like this before I could say the problem has gone? I don't see why the weapon enchantments would be a problem as I'm using the same mods I have used for a long time. 43 minutes ago, Dorabella said: 3) Check to see if it happens consistently in the same place. Again, most of the time I don't know exactly when or where it happens. 45 minutes ago, Dorabella said: Does it have double enchantment by any chance? Most do but that's just a perk in Ordinator as far as I know. In any case I'm not always certain what the lost weapon was made of or what enchantments it had.
