Help needed to Downgrade Skyrim on Linux

Recommended Posts

Hi out there,

I spend the past three weeks to set up skyrim on a new system and managed to get my first modded install to work. I forgot to disable upgrades, and skyrim secretly updated my game breaking everything.

I want to downgrade my game from the current version 1.7.99 to the previous version. I think that was 1.6.1170 (I dont get the naming convention for upgrades).
I am aware that there are multiple downgrade tools but since I am running linux I dont want to entrust a .exe running through wine with doing the downgrading.

Can somone point me to a guide to downgrade to 1.6.1170 specifically?
I know this needs between 1 and 3 manifest ids and i really dont want to break things further.

Do you use Steam? Then set Auto-Update-Download between 3 and 4 at night. => no autoupdate anymore

and shut your Computer down over night ;)

I don't get it. Why not simply announce there is a new update, and then let people click the download button somewhere, if they want it? Am I missing something? I know they have been doing this for years and years, I don't know why.
