Massive lag outdoors ?

In interior spaces, I get around 15-20 fps with enb, about 20-30 without. Whenever I go outdoors, regardless if I have enb enabled or not, my performance dies. I get around 1-5  fps , even if there are no trees or people nearby. Also, I've noticed that recently, after tweaking one option in my skyrimprefs.ini (i forget which one) the ground outdoors has no light shining on it. If I look into the distance, there are some areas illuminated by the sun, but the second I move over to said place, the sunlight disappears. This has been driving me insane. Any help would be greatly appreciated !

If you are only getting 20-30 fps in interiors without ENB, you shouldn't be using ENB at all, it's not surprising your fps slows to a crawl outdoors. You can try some sweetfx preset if you want some graphic enhancement, they hurt your performance a lot less than ENB, like this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48554/?

Lower some graphic settings also helps your fps, especially shadow level and resolution. Also you should back up your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini before you make a change, but in your case, you can just delete both of them, then launch the game, it will automatically generate new files in the folder, then you can adjust everything from there.

I've already tried disabling enb outdoors, yet i only gain about 1-3 frames. Also, i doubt my enb should have much impact on performance since I'm using cinemascope enb, which has little to no noticeable performance impact. Before I started messing around with the skyrimprefs file my game ran fine outside as well. I've already tried deleting the file and letting skyrim generate another one, but I notice no difference whatsoever.

Doesn't 1-3 fps sound a lot to you when you are only getting single digit fps? 3fps may don't matter if you getting 40fps+, but dude, you are already running a slide show there.

If you have 20-30 fps in interiors, it's pretty normal you get <10 fps outdoors. Lower your settings if you want to get better and playable fps.

About the graphical glitch you mentioned, does it happen with your ENB disabled?

Time to ditch that 2k texture replacer pack you have and/or disable some script mods. If you cannot get around 50+ fps indoor, then your graphic card cannot handle all the load in your game (be that NPCs or textures). In short, there are 3 fixes:

- Get "Skyrim Realistic Overhaul" (on The Pirate Bay) to replace whatever texture pack you have.

- Disable mods that add more NPCs, mobs, and etcs (Also use the performance version of SMIM)

- Get a new graphic card that has more than 2GB (Recommended choice is R9 280X)

Just my 2 cents.

If memory is an issue, and it is for me so I know ;), then there are a few fixes out there that can get quite a few frames per second, even on the weakest of rigs.

This one here, if you use the most reduced textures, will make a HUGE improvement....

You can also use this app here to optimize textures for several games, not just Skyrim....
