Can you tell me which vanilla characters with MaleCondescending voice type you have as followers? It seriously helps me write dialogue if I know what tone to match! Oh there's a bunch lol I've used Jarl Siddgeir as a follower. He's got that voice. I think Savos Aren at the mage college has it too and I know the guy who runs the Silver Blood Inn does. What'shisface? Klepr? If it's an asshole character they usually have that voice haha

KajsaRikka Posted July 27 Author Posted July 27 1.3 is out. Followers will now talk differently about the PC depending on whether they've slept with her or not. This requires OStim and/or SexLab. Counts should be cumulative across the two frameworks. Let me know if you see any issues. 2
aspirine2 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 many are using sexlab survival. i don't think SLS will run smoothly with player oppression. any idea how can i make it work without oppression cause i have been crashing without.

Hmm, the mentions of SLS and Player Oppression make me wonder if this message was intended to be posted here. This mod, Mean Followers, does not require Licenses - Player Oppression. My other mod Follower Manages Licenses is an extension for LPO and therefore does require it. Mean Followers, on the other hand, is perfectly compatible with SLS or LPO or neither. Of course, LPO and SLS are not compatible with each other, because LPO is a replacement for the primary feature of SLS. If you're on SLS and don't want to move to LPO, I believe a Devious Follower can manage your SLS licenses for you. FML is a replacement for this SLS/DF feature but is of course unnecessary and irrelevant if you're using SLS instead of LPO. LPO is really great, though. So much respect for that project.

I'm trying to understand why is my old save crashing after installing this. maybe it requires new game.
esdeath2331 Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I have been playing this mod since version 1.0, all the way up to version 1.2, and I really enjoy it. However, I feel that some of the dialogue in version 1.3 is a little strange. Of course, this is just my personal opinion, so please don't take it as an attack. Before version 1.2, this mod and the Vanilla Sexism mod together created a world that was heavily based around a very male-dominated and patriarchal setting. However, in version 1.3, a lot of new dialogue was added involving followers showing possessiveness, a desire to control the player, jealousy, and similar themes. While these elements can also be considered a form of harmful male dominance, they actually feel much softer compared to the atmosphere established in version 1.2. Because of that, the transition feels somewhat inconsistent to me. The reason is that, fundamentally, possessiveness, jealousy, and fear of being cuckolded are often rooted in the fear of losing someone and reproductive insecurity. This kind of motivation feels somewhat different from the patriarchal worldview that was established in version 1.2 and through Vanilla Sexism. The new dialogue in version 1.3 feels more like the kind of sexism, narcissism, and relationship insecurity that exists in real life — for example, men who are controlling, possessive, and afraid of being replaced by another man. In comparison, it feels less like the harsh social system portrayed in the earlier versions. Of course, I understand that this mod is created by the author voluntarily and for free, and I know I have no right to tell the creator how they should develop their work. I am only sharing my personal impression and feedback. Finally, thank you very much to the author for all the hard work and dedication put into creating this mod.

I'm sorry the new content isn't to your taste. It can be turned off by setting the relationship threshold to "Off" and the number of scenes/partners thresholds to the max. But I'll put an MCM toggle in the next update. Just to confirm, what you basically want is a switch that turns off all the "soft" content where it seems like the follower might be developing some fondness for the PC. Is that correct? If there is a type of content you do want in the mod, I welcome feature requests, like other users made up the thread.
dirtysham Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) Not many followers use the drunk voice, but the vanilla follower Cosnach would be perfect for this. He also doesn't have any of his own lines after becoming a follower so this would be a nice upgrade. Edited July 30 by dirtysham

You’re making this for free and because it’s something you enjoy. At the end of the day, no one has the right to dictate what you should or shouldn’t do with your own work. That said, as you mentioned, adding an option to toggle this content on or off in the next update would be a good solution. As for the kind of content I’d personally like to see added, perhaps it could focus more on people questioning whether the Dragonborn is really the Dragonborn simply because she is a woman, dismissing the abilities of a female Dragonborn, or even assuming that “female Dragonborn” is just some kind of paid role-play service offered at certain inns. There could also be more dialogue rejecting the idea of women using weapons—for example, saying that a woman with a weapon is more likely to accidentally hurt someone else or injure herself. Going even further, some characters might claim that women only take up weapons and go adventuring because they secretly want to experience what happens to them after they lose a fight. 1
40Karats Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) Really good. Would you consider doing a ‘Mean Husbands/Spouses’ later too? I think there’s potential there too. Or possibly just as a small extension to mean followers, if you decide to marry them. Edited August 5 by 40Karats
